American Athletic Shoe Adjustable Double Runner Ice Skates

These skates were the best invention ever for babies that want to skate. My 2 yr old daughter who wears a size 5 in infant shoes is very independent and wants to do everything her big sister does. I already imagined a meltdown had I not found these for her to participate with us for holiday skating. The quality was great. I did wish the velcro went all the way around but with some thread and needle I was able to tailor them to her foot size to fit snug. They worked great and held on tight for the 2 hrs she skated. She had a blast. She was even able to skate a few seconds without assistance (although I hovered like a military helocopter). Highly recommend!!! They extend to fit your kid as they grow!

These work great for my two year old. The blades are very wide apart, so be can stand and even shuffle around without support. This is important for us because I have two other kids that need help at the Dr time! I like that they will easily adjust to fit larger sizes. Straps are okay, not great...they could be a little better quality. Fasteners are plastic and can loosen. But for our purpose, they are fine so far. I don't know if they will be easy to skate on once my son gets more confident, since the blades are so thick and kind of heavy. But they are perfect for a small beginner.

These are not ice skates in the traditional sense of the word. They are more like the equivalent of one of those old "Flexible Flyer" sleds with metal runners - but strapped to your child's unsupported feet. Should have known better than to buy these but thought that they would be easier for a small child to use than a single-blade skate. Wrong. My 4 year old shuffled around in these for 2-3 minutes, fell a bunch, and gave up. Tried an old pair of child's CCM skates, single blade, barely sharpened, and within 5 minutes she was flying around without any issues. I could cover the shoddy construction, the total lack of any sharp edge, the inability of the poorly designed strap system to hold the skates to your kid's boot, but ultimately would be wasting your time. Don't buy these. The absolute cheapest, garbage-tier single-blade skates out there are about $17 more but will actually function for their intended purpose.

The hardware on these skates couldn't be tightened down too tight so they ended up falling apart after the first use. However a $0.30 fix at the hardware store took care of that. Got rid of the wing nut and put on a lock washer and nut. Now I have to use a wrench to adjust the size but I don't have to do it so often that it is an inconvenience.

Bought these for a birthday party we were invited to. They worked out perfectly. Only issue is that I wish the straps were velcro but not a big deal. My son didn't want to get of the ice he was having a blast! I like that they are double edged. They are expandable which is great. Another child at the party used them as well and loved them.

My son is 4 and I brought this for him to try on his very first time skating. With these skates fully extended it fit his feet but the straps were way too long. Not sure how to strap his feet down without him twisting his ankles. Did not come with instructions. I cannot adjust the straps either cause it is tied down at one end. I ended up tying the straps into a knot just for that time. after one lap we rented skates instead which I didn't want to do in the first place but have no choice, I didn't want the loose straps to cause any injuries. Don't know how it will fit my 2 year old daughter if it doesn't even fit a kid with big feet. Best to just buy regular skates that fit their shoe size. I can probably tie a shoe lace on it and see if it helps. I gave this a two cause it does grow with the kid and if the straps were working I'm pretty sure the skates will work just to get them use to being on top of ice the first few times. This might be better for a kid that is under 2 not 4. Good thing my daughter is still small so I can try to replace the straps myself and use it on her. I will update with photos next time.

Easy to use but screw came loose

We got these for our 3 year old to wear at the skating rink. He likes them and is able to walk around on the ice. My only complaint is that the adjustment screw on the bottom has come loose a couple of times while he was skating and I had to put the skate back together. I try to make sure it's tight now before he goes out on the ice.

Kid loves it

These work well for the price. Wish the straps stayed fastened better. But the buckles are plastic so they come loose easier.

The straps aren't amazing and the second needs to attached through my sons loop on the back of his boot so that his boot doesn't lift off the skate, but for the price its what I needed.
