I stumbled across this product while in the process of searching out individual cobalt drill bits, both indexed and individually. I will admit I was skeptical, especially given the price. I assumed the positive reviews were fake and from the seller. While this could be the case, they worked perfectly for my project, which was drilling 3/8" steel posts. While they were not hardened, one of the spots drilled was on a seam which caused me much trouble during an earlier drilling. However, these combined with Tap Magic drilled the needed holes flawlessly.I would absolutely purchase these again. I do not know how well they would work without some sort of machining oil. One of the best parts of these bits are the variety of sizes. One purchaser commented on why they would ever need so many different sizes. If you are drilling next to brackets, as I was, the slimmer steps are a necessity. The case is also extremely handy, especially given that I have so many step bits with no home currently. The case will ensure I do not damage these bits using them carelessly on another project.I do not know how well these would hold up to thousands of drillings but from looking at them following around 30, they seem sharp, both the tip and the cutting edge.

They work good on wood aluminum and thin sheet metal. I use them on electrical control boxes.

This is a very good tool for the price, and the case to store them in is an added bonus.
