Description

The Spears 809 series 90-degree elbow is made of schedule 80 PVC, has a spigot end and a socket end, connects two pipes at a 90-degree angle, and is suitable for waste water systems in residential applications. This schedule 80 (thick wall) fitting is made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) for corrosion resistance, high strength, and less weight than fittings made from metal. PVC can be connected to other materials such as steel, copper, or cast iron using transition fittings. This 90-degree street elbow fitting, or "street ell," connects two pipes at a 90-degree angle to change the direction of flow between pipes. The spigot connection fits into the end of a female unthreaded pipe and the female socket connection slips over the end of a male unthreaded pipe for enhanced flow of materials. The fitting has an operating temperature range of 73 to 140 degrees F (23 to 60C). This 90-degree street elbow fitting meets American Society for Testing and Materials International (ASTM) D2467 for quality assurance, National Sanitation Foundation International (NSF)/American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Standard 61 Annex G for potable water, and conforms with lead content requirements for "lead free" plumbing as defined by California and Vermont.
