Is there a video to watch to know how to use this correctly? It came with no instructions.

I don't have a video but it is a fairly simple tool. Hook the chain link fence up on one end then layout the roll of chainlink fabric (handstretching as much as possible along the way) . Cut the chainlink fabric a few diamonds short of the post you are stretching to. Install the tension bar on that end of the fabric you cut off. The one end of the tool with the notch fits around the tension bar and the other end will mount on the post. As you pull the handle/ lever of the stretcher towards the post, the fabric will stretch and you can secure the chainlink fabric with tension bands and nuts and bllts.

Will it work for chicken wire? Garden is 40’ by 40’.

I don't see why not. It is designed for much heavier fence material, so chicken wire shouldn't strain it much. It is powerful, though, so be careful that you don't break the wire.
