What to do with your rod getting out of the car? This little magnet holds the rod upright and the wind doesn't blow it. One trick I've learned is when you want to move a mile up the road with a 9 ft rod, Put the reel under your windshield wiper and clap this magnet on the rod at the top of the windshield. A lovely gadget, great stocking stuffer for the fisherman. They make some that hold shotguns too.

If you’ve ever leaned a fly rod against the car, only to have it slide off or (even worse) close a door on it - you need this. Simple, easy and works like a charm.

I have three of these. They fasten magnetically to the car or truck. Holds my fly rod so it does not fall or inadvertently get caught in the door or hatch. When I forgot to remove it ( after putting the rod away) and drove off, it did not fall off the car. Inexpensive. Great gadget.

Much cheaper than a $600 rod vault and serves the same purpose. Works great for trucks.

This little magnetic yoke can save a fishing trip. More than once I have propped a fly rod up against my vehicle while getting ready to fish. On two occasions, just as I closed a door, the rod slid over and was caught in the door. The first time this happened, it was a brand new rod I was just preparing to fish for the first time. Snapped about six inches off the tip of the rod. The next time it was my favorite rod, but this time I was fortunate that the rod was just caught under the lip of my closing hatchback and the rod was not broken. With this little magnetic holder you just set your rod up against the side of the car, slip the magnetic holder over it, and voila, the rod is safe. I keep the rod holder in my vehicle at all times so it will be available.

When I was a youngster, our dog knocked my dads fly pole over and he slammed it in the car door. I laughed. 30 years later I closed my fly pole in the door. Not really that funny. A week later a co workers wife closed his pole in the door. I purchased this and during my last fishing trip, snapped this to the side of my truck to hold my pole. Nothing bad happened. So cheap, so easy, and you never have bad things happen to not only your favorite rod, but expensive. Almost have to buy these just for insurance. To easy to protect your equipment.

This is convenient for other things besides fishing poles. I have a few of them. This one unfortunately was missing the split Ring and had to add my own..not a big deal, just an inconvenience.
