This adapter is a fantastic product, offering excellent value for the price. It worked flawlessly, allowing me to easily access data from my older hard drives, which was exactly what I needed. The inclusion of the external power adapter proved to be a real lifesaver, and I was very pleased with the price, which was significantly more reasonable than other similar options I had considered. I would highly recommend this adapter to anyone in search of a straightforward and efficient solution for connecting older storage devices.

I used it to migrate from an HHD to an SSD on a windows 10 laptop and it worked. I used Samsung magician software, and it recognized the AGPTEK device. I would have given it five stars, but the 2.0 device was slow. It took four hours to transfer the data. Once you hook everything up give it some time to show up and go to search and type in "diskmgmt.msc". Then wait it will show up and ask to format the new drive, format and you're ready to go. I am very pleased with this device.

I have a couple of old drives that I was hoping to use this on. It works great on an older SATA drive that it works just fine on, powers and connects easily and allows for file transfer to my newer computer. The other drive I was hoping it would be able to power long enough for me to transfer files from seems, unfortunately, to just be dead. While all the connections fit (it is a parallel connection), the drive would not power.The kit comes with a power adapter, and different power cables to attach to your drive, depending on the connection. Then there is a piece that attaches the drive to your computer (via USB) which allows for a variety of different attachments. As long as your drive can be powered, this is a good, inexpensive option to transfer files from an old internal or non-USB external drive.

I had various drives that I collected over years of building/scrapping PC's. As tech evolved, so did the connections required. I decided that I wanted to ditch that pile of old drives. This item connected to everything I had. Flawlessly transferred all the data. I prefer this kit over the various other options that have casings and all that. I didn't need a case. This wasn't for use with a drive that was just going to hang out. It did what I needed it to do. Slapped everything into a sealable bag and tossed it into the chord box. Will I ever use it again? No idea. But It was worth the money for what I needed and I have no complaints.

I only purchased this as a backup adapter to use in case I needed it but I didn't need it when I 1st purchased it. It's been over a month and I finally pulled it out of the Box to use it and on the very 1st use it worked for about 10 seconds and then the power supplies Green LED indicator light started blinking and the hard drive powered off. I'm a Tech so I did all of the proper troubleshooting steps. Including trying different drives. To verify it was the adapter versus the power supply and to rule out the firsr Hard drive I used a different adapter and it works just fine. Lastly, I used a multimeter and checked the power supply pin outs for voltage. The power supply is failing to supply enough current. China can build products with any quality the Manufacturer wants and in this case. The Manufacturer chose to save money by using supper cheap Capacitors. These cheap Capacitors that Chinese Manufacturers offer are half the size and go bad astonishingly fast because they are not heavy-duty enough. Honestly, even the experts at Rayelco or any Power Supply or Electronics parts Professionals will confirm this. It's a well known problem in the Tech and Electronics industry. The Sata Adapter part is working fine with a different power supply. I purchased this because it was inexpensive. But like most inexpensive purchases. You end up paying more because they don't last long and I will end up paying more after I buy a replacement power supply. So DON'T BUY THIS! Pay $10 more for a BETTER QUALITY product instead.

I picked up this item mainly for one reason, I wanted a small external power supply that could power up internal floppy and hard drives when they were being used externally, specifically, on older systems that couldn't provide power to them directly. For that, the power supply works as expected. You'll get 12v and 5v out at up to 2000mA.Some other reviews and now I all agree, this would have been better if the power supply had come with a standard connector on it and not this custom connector/cable pair that will eventually break. Not a huge deal for me though, if the custom connector breaks or I lose the custom cable that came with it, I'll just cut off their connector and attach my own. I might just do that soon anyway so as not to have to deal with it.My 2nd pet peeve is the in-line power switch. It suggests you can turn on/off the supply of power to devices, but in reality, this does not work as expected. The switch does work on the 12v rail and 3.5" HDDs will power off with the switch, but it does NOT control the 5v line, so 2.5" HDDs, floppy drives (including gotek emulators), etc. will not get switched off by the in-line power switch. If you NEED that function, this item isn't for you.Now that aside, this product also comes with a bundled SATA/PATA (IDE) USB adapter so you can access internal drives externally, over USB. Mine does not work, or at least, it does not work with Windows 11. It just returns the error "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" and will not load drivers for it, not even manually. I'm trying access some 2.5" IDE drives and this is getting my no-where, so now I'll have to find another way. Pretty disappointing, really.There are probably better versions of this on Amazon.

Did exactly what it says and I wanted. I had a very old dead laptop which had documents and photos I wanted and using this I was able to transfer them over to my new laptop. Very simple to use too
