How well does it handle a wash and dry?

I gave this as a gift so I don't know for sure. But I always thought you should just sponge off a stuffed animal and then fluff it dry in a warm (not hot) dryer. I'd recommend you check the Gund website to ensure you clean it properly to preserve that lovely Gund cushiony softness in the stuffing.

How durable is this monkey? I was thinking about purchasing for my small dog..

It's not meant for a dog. It will break apart right away.

What is the height when the money is sitting-down? What is the height when the money is stretched out?

Approximately 8 1/2" - for sure just under 9" when in the sitting position. Stretched out it measures at just 12" or a foot. Sits very well and doesn't fall over as I have it sitting on a small, child sized book shelf.
