This is an amazing, true story of the before, and after spiritual transformation that will speak to the hearts of anyone and any walk of life. I highly recommend this book.

What a conversion .God can reach anyone anywhere. The Bible is the only truth.Even if you look at it in an objective way.

The book is very entertaining and takes you through Mikes life all the way to present day. Only problem with the book is that it gets a little too god heavy for me towards the end, but don’t let that deter you from reading it. If you like mike and find him interesting give this book a try!

Fascinating story that plumbs the depths of organized crime and offers an insider's perspective on the history, heritage and mind set of the Cosa Nostra. Michael speaks eloquently of the love he shared with his notorious father but honestly expresses his frustration with his father's allegiance to the Mafia, despite the betrayal and disrespect that they rewarded his loyalty with. As too many investigations have already demonstrated, Michael also depicts how many law enforcement agents utilized illegal and unethical methods to obtain their coveted convictions. It's a very detailed and intimate look at what transpires in the both the private lives and criminal activities of organized crime. The last section of the book is devoted to an extensive treatise on Michael's experience in accepting the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Most people are naturally suspect of "jail-house" conversions but Michael presents a deep and reasonable argument for his faith, utilizing the evidence within Scripture but also the historical testimonies of many famous people. What is so compelling is that his witness stems from a person who walked in almost unheard of power and influence and obscene wealth. His renunciation of his former life of great comfort and luxury to follow in the footsteps of the Carpenter from Nazareth is staggering to say the least. One can not help but be reminded of a fist century enemy of God who after his conversion, counted all things as "rubbish" for the sake of knowing Christ. Whether you accept Michael's conclusions or not it's impossible not to be transfixed by the narrative he unfolds and marvel at the metamorphosis this man went through...can't wait to read it again!

This is a pretty amazing story from beginning to end. I've kind of become obsessed since starting this book last week. I've read dozens of articles on him over the past few days. Most of his account is confirmed by these sources. It is all well-written too.As one who is on the lower rungs of the learning ladder on this field, I'd like to know much more. But frankly, I dod find it kind of hard to believe Franzese when he claims that he never killed anyone himself as he rose in rank to made man and caporegime. Is that possible? In fact, I don't think he ever owns even having a single fist-fight. The news accounts confirm that he represented a modern attempt at mob life that minimized the violence. But even so, is it possible to be one of the world's most feared mobsters without killing anyone?In any case, he gives some amazing insights, and has an unique story. His conversion strikes me as sincere, and his subsequent mistakes don't surprise me. Old habits die hard, etc.I really wish this book had alot more pictures and an index.I'll be buying more copies to give to friends. I'd love to hear Franzese speak too.

great book with a opportunity to see into the life of the mob and how it was taken down. Michael was not a killer nor did he want to kill. He just wanted to make money and take care of the people around him that helped him. It shows the life on how the mob had its hand in everything from movies, to record companies, gas companies and even sports agencies. great book, don't miss out

I have just finished reading this amazing book. There is something for everyone in it's pages whether you are a believer or not. It starts with the story of a vulnerable little boy and the love and loyalty that grew up between him and his step father a high ranking mobster in the mafia. This deep bond drew Michael himself into La Cosa Nostra. We get an inside view of life as a captain in the Colombo family. Then there is the story of a beautiful love affair and marriage between Michael and an innocent Mexican American girl which withstands long periods on trial and in prison. The next part is redemption and transformation when Michael meets with Jesus and gives over control of his life to God. He now is involved in trying to prevent young men from following a life of crime. I am deeply moved by this book and it has helped my relationship with God become wider and deeper. Amazing story of going from being high up in mafia to becoming a Christian with all the risks involved in turning away from being in mafia to changing his life & becoming a follower of Jesus Christ.In places I found it a bit drawn out but overall. Good read

This is a very compelling book, very brave man to speak out.
