The Bath Time Book (Bedtime Book for Kids)

Easy read, cute pictures, but the writing could have been better. The book was free, so I wont complain too much.

The Bath Time BookChildren's colorful story about Alfie and it's time for a bath and he's not even tired to go to bed.He just wanted to play, no eat or drink or take a bath and the others told him he couldn't play as it was his bath time.He finally gives in as he knows all his friends are in their beds already. He imagines a lot of things he could be doing...Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.

I was driven to buy this book by the fact that this book was written by Rachel who is just 16. This is the 1st time I buy a book from her. I have 2 little girls at home and they want bedtime stories all the time. I have little imagination and not much patience. I always start telling a story and and then the end ( which means I start a story and end it in seconds). I love the fact that a child can write books as I believe they have more imagination than adults.I would always support this type of work, I mean a book for a child written by another kid is so genuine. It is not like when adults write books they might do it for money. When a kid imagines a story and then makes it a book they do it because it is fun. It they do it for fun they can pass that on. I love the fact that this book leaves a message. I think all childrens book should leave a message.

I enjoyed reading this story. The illustrations were large, bright, colorful, and full of details.The story begins with Alfie trying to talk his family into letting him stay up later, but it is bath time. So after dragging his feet he approaches the stair case and realizes their is a princess at the top that needs saving, from there as his bath time regimen is described and Alfie turns it into a pretend game we are given matching illustrations as to what he is pretending. Linen baskets turn into crow's nests, wearing his robe turns him into a boxer, etc....(I hope his trip in the river stayed within it's banks). The only segue I thought need work was on him getting out of the tub, but I'm assuming the ship was his mom.It is a cute story. It is easy to read, the language flows well.I highly recommend this story.

I am thrilled to discover this children's writer/artist! This book is ideal for preschoolers and first-graders, with its simple lines and repetition. The artwork is just right too. The only problem I have is with the small font -- I'd enlarge it to at least twice the size to make it readable for us grandfolks and their grandkiddos.Alfie wants to play, not time for a bath. Mom and Dad and sister have no time to play with him. Nor do his friends. But wait! His playthings are triggers for his imagination -- and through that he finds many "friends" and "adventures." And then a delightful ending, so childlike and tender. I love this book and recommend it for a bedtime story.

I've long felt that most children's books must operate on two levels: they have to be intriguing and accessible to the children who are the intended audience, but they must also be interesting to the adult who reads the story. In this book a little boy uses his imagination to storm castles, explore jungles, shadow box, sail ships, and swim in the sea all on his way to the bath (or in the bath). It sounds wonderful, but in fact it's a little flat. The illustrations and the text are colorful, but bland. I want to like the book, but don't.

The bath book time book was not what I expected, it is a nice book for an older child. I wanted it for my grandson and was hoping it show more pictures of children enjoying bathtime.

Unser Kleiner (18 Monate) liebt dieses Buch so sehr, dass wir als Großeltern ein zweites Exemplar für einen anderen User gekauft haben. Natürlich kann er mit den Bildern, die seiner Erfahrungswelt entsprechen, z.B. den Bildern von Alfies Mutter (traditionell mit einem Wäschekorb) und dem Vater (rollengemäß mit einem Laptop), sowie den Bildern, auf denen der Junge Alfie mit seinen Spielsachen gezeigt wird oder im Bett liegt, mehr anfangen, als mit Bildern, auf denen Alfie davon träumt, ein Ritter, ein Kapitän oder ein Großwildjäger zu sein. Die Zeichnungen sind klar und übersichtlich, sowie von schöner Farbgebung, wie man schon auf dem Bucheinband erkennen kann. Wir erklären ihm die Bilder auf Deutsch, vielleicht kommt Englisch später zum Einsatz.Our grandson (18 months) loves this ebook so much that we bought a second copy for a different user. Of course he can only understand the pictures that correspond with his experiences. So he prefers the illustrations of the mother (cliché: with the laundry basket) and the father (cliché: with the laptop) and the pictures of Alfie and his toys. Alfie's dreams like being a knight or a hunter are too difficult for him, nevertheless he likes the dragon. The pictures are clear and nicely coloured as already visible on the book cover. We explain the pictures in German, English might follow a lot later.

The Bath Time Book - Cute little book, Entertaining and well illustrated. I would recommend it to others with little ones in their lives.
