Mailani

Ok, so I'd like to begin by saying this was my first Hawaiian album. I had heard one of these songs (Ho'oheno Keia No Beauty) and I really loved it, so I decided to get the album. I was in for a very pleasant surprise!Being new to Hawaiian music, I'm not completely sure what this falls under, but if I had to guess, I'd say it'd be Hawaiian contemporary. The album is mostly in Hawaiian, but there are a couple songs in English, as well. Not understanding the Hawaiian songs does not detract from the beauty of them, in fact I'd say it only serves to add to them. The songs run the gambit from slow and romantic to foot tapping mid-tempo.Now, the best part about this album is the vocals. Mailani has a wonderful voice! She really draws you in and makes you enjoy this beautiful music. I've noticed she has another album out, which I plan on getting as well.In closing, let me strongly recommend this album to anyone who may be interested in giving Hawaiian music a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised, just as I was.

I heard this when I bought it for my sister. I loved it so much that I had to get my own. I didn't know that I loved Mailani Makainai! I love this music. Mountain Apple and Mailani are wonderful.

youtube で「waikiki」の見て、mailaniに興味を持ちました。多くの楽器を用いず、必要最低限で和みの音楽を聞かせくれます。ハワイ語が新鮮に感じ、スッ〜と心の中に入ってきて、日頃の雑踏の中の暮らしから、一瞬、ハワイに逃避することができます。家の中でも、車の中でも気持ちを穏やかにして、心に余裕を持たせてくれます。できれば、青い海を見える、白い浜辺で、ゆったりと聞きたいですね。

とても爽やかな歌声で、心地良いです。カラダにすぅ〜っと入り込む感じで、癒されます。歌詞カード的なものがなかったので、残念でした。と、いう訳で☆4つにしました。
