2019 Newly Grote LP Custom Electric Guitar Solid Body with Maple Burl Veneer top (green)

I have bought a good number of Chinese guitars. The Grote custom LP guitar is one of the better ones, but I would not recommend if you can not do your own setup and repairs.Body appears to be two pc mahogany with 1/2" maple cap and beautiful green burl veneer.Finish and binding are excellent. Pickups measured at 9.8ohms(neck)and 10.1ohms(bridge),are wax potted and sound very balanced. I prefer them to my Epiphone Les Paul's. No shielding paint in ctrl cavity.The neck had defects.The med.jumbo(.046hx.105w)frets ends were polished, but no leveling was done.DEFECT:Two frets were not seated (.006"high)and had to be tapped in and glued. One fret has a gouge on the side that doesn't affect function.DEFECT:Plastic nut base protrudes out on one side(photo)due to defect in headstock shaping. This can not be easily fixed, but does not affect function.Replaced with bone nut.DEFECT:Truss rod runs out of adjustment with only about.005-.008 relief with .0095"gauge strings. Too straight for my liking.Cheap tuners work ok, but are loose;needed replacing. Medium C neck profile,16"radius fingerboard, Doesn't look like typical rosewood, but looks nice.After seeing positive reveiws for Grote products, I was disappointed with the neck defects. But,after fret leveling and setup, it does play very good.I am keeping this because of the unique design and beautiful wood top.At time of this posting,the price has been raised from 200usd to 300usd since I ordered.
