This is an excellent double cd compilation of many of the best tracks from the The Human League albums through Romantic?. The track ordering seems rather random, jumping all across time from track to track, but I find the running order to be enjoyable.Here are some notes on song versions found here: "(Keep Feeling) Fascination" is the shorter version easily found on many other compilation cds, rather than the extended version which is harder to find on cd. (As far as I know you can only get it on the 2012 Dare/Fascination double cd that now seems to be rather expensive to find or the 2015 Japanese Fascination cd). "Being Boiled" is the single version found on the 2003 Reproduction cd. One pretty cool choice here is that "I Love You Too Much" here is the version from the Fascination ep rather than the version from Hysteria (I like this earlier version better). "Seconds (Instrumental Remix)" seems to me to be the same one found on Love and Dancing.I have a lot of Human League cd's, but for some reason I still only own Dare, Fascination, and Hysteria on vinyl and I bought this collection because I thought it would be a good way to get many of the tracks from those albums on cd with a single purchase. The tracks from those vinyl records which are not found here are: "Get Carter", "Seconds", "(Keep Feeling) Fascination (Extended Version)", "Hard Times", "(Keep Feeling) Fascination (Improvisation)", "I Love You Too Much (Hysteria Version)", and "Betrayed".

Another Greatest Hits or Best of compilation from THE HUMAN LEAGUE. But, low and behold, it's got 40 tracks on 2 CDS!This one is good as well and contains most of their hits and career highlights over a 2 CD presentation.For 2013, it's a fairly good release since I don't think they have ever put out 40 Songs as a Best of.Disc 1 has 20 songs.Disc 2 has 20 songs.Now, here's the thing with this set. HARD TIMES in any mix is missing that's found on FASCINATION! album.SECONDS from DARE! is not in the album form, but there is an Instrumental Remix version of it here on Disc 2.It's okay, but I prefer the album version. It's better than nothing at all.There is also a 12" version of the song and hit HUMAN that can be found on the CRASH expanded CD.That is not on this compilation, but the single is, since it was a big hit for them.I would recommend this one for any HUMAN LEAGUE fan, but I would also recommend DARE! and CRASH albums.Those remastered, expanded CDs are out there. Get a good deal!

The only Human League album I got is 1986's Crash, so it is a bonus to get Gold as the collection features almost whole albums of Dare! and Hysteria. In addition, it culls from their debut 1979's Reproduction up till 1990's Romantic?I'll give you the breakdown of what is taken off the original vinyl (not CD reissues) as the booklet does not state where the songs are from.1) Dare: everything except Get Carter.2) Fascination! EP: four out of six tracks. (Keep Feeling) Fascination, Mirror Man, I Love You Too Much, You Remind Me Of Gold.3) Hysteria: everything except Betrayed.4) Crash: five tracks - Human, Money, I Need Your Loving, The Real Thing and Love Is All That Matters.5) Together In Electric Dreams : Phil Oakey with Giorgio Moroder off the Electric Dreams soundtrack. Not strictly Human League.It isn't a complete singles collection because singles from Octopus, Secrets and Credo were omitted. There aren't any remixes here, so you will have to get their remix CDs.Since I was a keen follower of their singles as a teen but somehow never collected their albums, Gold spanning 40 tracks is quite a steal. And the remastering is great! These 30 year old songs sound just as fresh and crisp as they did in the 80s!

40 Songs verteilt auf 2 CDs, die in gutem Sound eine wahrhafte Bereicherung jeder Musiksammlung sind. Überwiegend stammen die Songs aus der Zeit, in der Human League richtig groß im Rennen waren und mit "Don't you want me" einen dieser Überhits der Achtziger Jahre schafften. Viel zu meckern gibt es wirklich nicht, man kann die CDs ohne die Skip-Taste des Players zu bedienen sehr gut durchhören, langweilig wirds nicht. Auch das kultige "Being boiled" der non-Album-Track "Fascination" und der Solohit von Phil Oakey "Together in electric dreams" sind unter anderem mit drauf ..... schön!Weshalb keine 5 Sterne?Mir persönlich hätte es besser gefallen, wenn es die ohnehin fast komplett enthaltenen Songs aus dem "Dare"-Album auch in dieser stimmigen Originalreihenfolge auf die "Gold" geschafft hätten. So steht beispielsweise "I am the law" ein bischen "allein" da und wird nur einfach ausgeblendet, wo der Song auf dem Originalalbum nahtlos in "Seconds" übergeht. Schade .... beim hören stimmt für mich da einfach was nicht.Wo ich noch beim zweiten Kritikpunkt wäre: das geniale "Seconds" ist nur in einer kurzen Instrumentalfassung auf dieser CD drauf .... eine Todsünde in meinen Ohren.Ansonsten allerdings wirklich eine 'Topsammlung (auch wenn, wie schon erwähnt, die Reihenfolge der Titel mir anders besser gefallen hätte).

Es un buen CD, y recoge los éxitos de Human League. Sin duda, me gusta mucho y no presenta nada negativo para mi.
