Excellent for faux wax seals!
I purchased this wax to use in wax seals as a decoration and to close up my packages that I send out to customers. I don't use this as a true letter seal. It is not brittle like letter sealing wax, and will not break if tampered with. Instead, it is rather supple and is more likely to peel off whole than crumble or break. It is slightly more "oily" than letter sealing wax - it leaves a little more residue and oil bleed-through on the paper. This is not a problem for me because it is on the outside if the package for me, just holding the binding twine in place. It takes an image beautifully. I use my plain old metal letter seals with it with no problem. If the oily residue is a problem for you, I recommend making your seals on a piece of parchment paper, letting them cool, then peeling them off. You will be left with lovely faux wax seals. Add a bit of adhesive to the back, and you have instant wax seals to apply to any project. I will be purchasing again once my supply runs out. Can't wait to try the other colors too!

Great for making seals!
Wonderful for my Burgundy wax seals! I used this to make wax seals for my wedding invitations and they were nice and opaque. Definitely a true dark Burgundy. I made about 200 seals and I haven't even used half of the bag. Well worth your money!

Perfect For Sealing Wine Bottles
Used these with my home-brewed wine to seal the bottles. It was easy to use and looked professional on the bottle. The color even matched the wine so it looked professional. Great buy.

Great, but low melting point
Great color, and the small grains make it easy to measure and melt. But the finished product has a super low melting point. Sure you don't want your alcohol to hit 90 anyways but if it does I would prefer if the wax wasn't getting splotchy.

Exactly what I wanted
I buy these beads to seal bottles of bourbon barrel aged maple syrup. I melt them in a wax melter, 75 watts, electric. When melted I dip the tops of each capped, full bottle twice, then I slowly rotate the bottle several seconds while it cools, then I quickly dip it in cold water. These work very well for making a bottle look decorative.

easy to use
This stuff is very easy to use and it came out great. The only issue was that when I tried to seal the cork, it didnt completely seal the cork.

Very runny - not good.
I do a variety of wax seals, bottles and other embellishments and this wax is not a good grade of wax to use for any of these projects, IMO. I varied the temperature to try and solve the consistency problem and nothing worked. Wax is very thin and almost opaque. Does not stamp well at all either. Most bottle waxes don't, but this was exceptionally bad. Covering bottle tops is ok at best and don't bump into anything after it is waxed, wax falls off very easily. I was hopeful. this would work as the price per quantity was great. I guess I got what I paid for.Color was accurate.
