How much clearance is required behind it? (How far does it need to be away from the wall behind it?)

I'd give it nearly a foot. The spec is 11 13/16".

What rpm does the blade spin?

About 2400rpm off the top of my head.

will this saw work good for cutting heavy metal warehouse pa;;et racking? I want to cut 12' high into 6' height.

I've used it for that and it works fine. It won't do heavy metal like I-Beams but pallet rack uprights were no problem.
