I was reluctant to get one of these phones after reading all the reviews on this type of phone (around 7 different phones that all seem to be the same), but I really wanted the look so thought I'd take a chance. I'm so glad I did. Apart from looking the part, it really does work very well. Yes it is a bit plasticky, particularly the cradle for the handset, and I think this could have been improved on a little, but unlike many reviews I have not found that the handset sticks or doesn't hang up properly. There is no volume control for calls or for the ringer, but I have not found it quiet when talking, and both myself and the other party can hear each other as if we were standing next to each other. The ring tone is quite pleasant, although a little disappointing - I was hoping for a traditional bell ring, but it is a more contemporary bell, like you would get on a mobile phone. The ring is a medium volume, not so loud that you jump out of your skin if you are close to it, but loud enough to hear from upstairs in a quiet environment, but I'm not sure you would notice it with the TV on for instance. It is a very basic phone and doesn't even store numbers (as in a phone book for speed dialling), but I am a very light phone user and do most of my communicating online so all in all I am very happy with it. If you want a bit more than just a basic phone though, this one is not for you.

I bought this phone and am absolutely delighted with it.The instructions are very easy to follow.The phone makes a very smart impression when you walk into my sitting room.I have four daughters and they all thought that I had spent a lot more money than it actually cost me.I WOULD MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS TELEPHONE TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS A NEW ONE.
