Where to start?The story begins "in medias res" and takes of quite nicely: Two scientists is faced the the possibilty of termination from their work and ends up working tirelessly on their pet-project, reworking the human race's DNA to perfection.It is by then clear how and who will be transformed by this project. Sadly it is also around here that things begin fall apart.As also mentioned, a better rundown of the philosphy could have been nice since the story dosen't focus on anything that comes near sex, as might have been expected by the genre.The ending feels rushed, like we need to get to the end quickly.But fair needs to be fair: The writing itself is not bad, it's just the content that could have been better.The ending was unexpected, which I do applause but at the same time, the tone just feels resigned; nothing more to come for and a feeling of not really comprehending why it had to end like that.

Kind of depressing, too depressing for my tastes, I had hoped for more conflict in the philosophical parts. Would have preferred to have been brought along the arguments path, but it seemed we were rushed to the conclusion of the protagonist long before the reader could.
