Magnificent - but maybe not as lethal as some think
A truly great condiment for chilliheads - hot, and with great flavour. But some of the reviews tend to overestimate the heat. It's not all that hot, and a few extra drops shouldn't matter too much. Still, proceed carefully all the same if you are not used to hot sauces. Essentially, though, the best thing about this oil is its warming chilli flavour. Anybody can produce heat with chilli extracts and you can get cheaper hot sauces that will burn your tongue off. But a chilli flavour is much harder to produce - and that's what you'll be paying for if you buy Akabanga. I shall certainly buy it again, but hope they replace the current bottle seal with something easier to remove.

The only chilli oil I need
This stuff pretty much saved me when living in Rwanda as I was getting increasingly bored of the rather bland melanges. A Rwandan handed me a bottle of this in a restaurant and I could feel him watching me out of the corner of his eye to see how I reacted... and I may have used a little too much!Wow this stuff is hot! Luckily I had a pint of milk coffee on hand :)Not sure how to describe the flavour other than it has quite a kick!So glad this can be bought online as I have really missed it since Rwanda, I just wish I had thought to search for it online earlier.Awesome chilli sauce, apart maybe from the lid which I assume is sealed to avoid accidental leakage and extreme pain to anyone coming in contact with it xDI've just ordered some dropper bottles to use with it in case I mess up opening it again!Edit: the lid was very easy to pierce this time!

Nice but pricey for the quantity
I love the liquid heat. The spice is nice and gives a lovely heat to good but it’s quite expensive for the size. Will not be repurchasing.

Unique flavour
I just got my order delivered. It was tricky to make a hole in cap. I used tealight candle for flame, tip of a screwdriver & burned a small hole to get at the oil. I then filled a small dropper bottle with the oil. It has a nice, unique flavour to it. For chili heads like me it takes at least 10 drops before I get a small, subtle kick, which is why warmth star rating is a 3 for me. I mix it into purees such as garlic & tomato. I then spread this mix onto biscuits/add to couscous etc... I have it on my subscribe & save.

Akabanga BANGS
Wonderful taste, and the right amount of kick for me. Gives me the flavour of Africa/Nigeria, an I love it! I pour this into smaller pocket size bottles and take with me everywhere to use. The only reason this is not a 5 star rating is because the hole through the cap where the oil is supposed to come out of was completely sealed meaning I had to remove the whole cap to use. I put that down to a dodgy batch. We'll see when I order again

This stuff is fiery! Be warned
I first came across Akabanga in Kigali, Rwanda. The restuarant menu said: 'Akabanga available on request'. A bottle duly arrived, wrapped neatly in a table napkin "in case is spills a little and you touch it and then your eyes" explained the waiter. I was eating a meat stew with plantain and wanted to add a little extra heat. But the waiter politely said, let me do it Sir" and put two drops of the liquied in my stew. "It is very hot, sir, please!" I can take hot so felt a little cheated. But, boy, that first mouthful made me aware I was in the presence of something on another scale. My ears burned and my eyes watered - but after the first shock, I liked it. The waiter brought a container with plain yogurt in it to put out fires in my mouth. I finished the stew with a little help from the yogurt. It was great although I was sweating as if in a sauna. I bought three small bottles - eyedrop bottles - of the stuff to take back with me to the UK. The bottles dispense drop by drop and two or three drops is all you need.I invited a friend who can never find anything hot enough for his taste to lunch and after his first mouthful of a disk of rice and fish with a couple of drops of Akabanga, he stood up and saluted the tiny bottles. I gave him one as a present.I went through the other two, with some assistance from friends, and missed my fiery companion. I tried Amazon completely on chance, never really expecting that they would have it in stock but there it was! I ordered a 100ml bottle and have happily making my way through it.But be warned - it is very hot. Take it in very small doses and if you are a fan of hot sauces, you'll love it.
