Pattern and Design Coloring Book: Volume 1 (Jenean Morrison Adult Coloring Books)

this is an awsome colouring book . the designs are realy cool and once the page yourve done gives of a beautiful finish . the paper is very good quality and the designs are printed on one side of the page . the designs are all different and from easy to more diffucult . its a nice thick book to which has kept me well occupied . would highly recommand this book . happy colouring folks :-)

The designs in this book can be as complicated or as simple as you want to colour them, and different elements could be emphasised to make a single pattern look quite different - so having two of the same book would not lead to boring repetition. The sheets are printed on one side only so you don't have to choose which side to use, but you do have to protect the design underneath from marker 'bleedthrough'. I used Copic paper which has a special backing to stop ink going through to the page below, but several sheets of waste paper would do the job as long as the barrier is thick enough to absorb all the ink. The printed paper in the book is particularly good with Copic markers - the print does not smudge - and some of my finished designs look as if they have been printed rather than simply coloured in. In fact, some finished designs look good on the reverse where the coloured ink has saturated the paper, giving a softer image of coloured shapes but without the black printed lines, allowing even more versatility in the finished article. If there is a Book 2 I will certainly buy one when it is available, and if not I will probably order another Book 1.

Very intricate designs..so far has kept me happy for hours..! and great that it is not double sided which means you can colour them all ! So many colouring books are printed both sides of the page which halves the amount you get. I use, apart from gel/fibre pens..Sharpies ..and the colour goes through to the back so try not to buy books which have a design on the back of the sheet. Would recommend this one.

This was the first Jenean Morrison book I bought, and I really do like it. I’ve bought more of hers now. Great patterns all in the theme, I like almost all of them. Decent paper - just wish it was perforated to make it easy to tear out, as I always remove the page as it’s easier to colour. Yep, go ahead, get one.

Larger book then expected with nice various patterns but paper quality let it down

I bought this after researching various adult colouring books and after reading an article in Saga magazine about how it helps to relax the older person decided this was one of the best. When it came I was highly delighted with all the designs and would recommend it to anyone who, like myself was not very good at art in school but loved "colouring in".

Gorgeous book. Lovely designs, brilliant paper quality. I've used Stabilo 68's and 88's as well as Steadler Noris pens and none bled through. I haven't tried Sharpies, but as the designs are printed single sided, so long as you put a sheet of paper behind, you should be ok.

The designs are printed on one side only so if your pens bleed through it won't ruin the next pattern, but I've used all types of different felt tips, and not a bit has come through yet. The paper is beautifully smooth, it's a pleasure to colour in. Some of the designs are a bit too geometric for my taste, but the book is o.k

I really like this coloring book. It has unique designs covering all levels of detail. Definitely put something under the page if using markers, it will bleed through, sometimes leaving a cool looking reverse (see pic).

No acababa de encontrar en las librerías de mi zona un libro de "mandalas" que tuvieran formas geométricas interesantes y bonitas. Bien, pues este libro es la solución. Hay diseños que realmente están bonitos y cuando los coloreas quedan genial. El rato relajante que te pasas mientras coloreas no te lo quita nadie.

I wasn't crazy about every single design, some of the simpler ones (as another reviewer mentioned) were a little too plain, but the ones with a bit more detail I absolutely loved coloring. The paper is a pretty good quality, but to prevent indentation into the pages below (I tend to press very hard with my colored pencils) I still put a few blank sheets of paper beneath the page I was working on. I'm not an artist and I'm not even good with making good color combinations, but I still have fun coloring so this was a good way to relax for me.

This is a really great coloring book! This is a really great book for someone who is just starting their journey into the realm of adult coloring (although kids could totally color in this book as well!). Jenean has a little of everything. There are easy designs. There are very intricate designs. There are some paisleys. There are some mandalas. There are geometric designs. Every single one is well drawn and are very enjoyable to color. It has been said before, but worth saying again: The designs are all on one side of the page so marker users don't have to worry about ruining a picture on the other side. This is never a problem for me as I like to color on cardstock anyway, but it is a great feature. I like using ultra fine Sharpies or Bic Mark Its, but I'm sure that other markers or colored pencils would do just fine as well. I totally recommend giving this book a try!
