Zinc Sulfate 220mg Capsules

Four very brief comments, and two brief comments, and one of them is very important: see the comment proceeded by "NOTE:" I was thrilled to discover this product on Amazon. My doctor recommended that I take 220mg of zinc per day. These capsules contain exactly the amount that I need to take each day. The capsules are not flimsy and none of them have broken open. I looked at my local brick and mortar store and the sizes that they stocked were 20mg and 30mg. It would have taken eleven and eight tablets, respectively to achieve that dose that I need to take. This would have made the cost prohibitive, well, outrageous. NOTE: The first couple of days that I took one capsule in the early morning I felt quite ill: queasy, shaky, unsteady on my feet, all that I could do was sleep. The next day I consulted an excellent pharmacist. He told me to take it at bedtime so that the after effects, if any, will occur while I am sleeping. This has worked out perfectly. I gave a five star rating to Flavor above. I gave this score because they have no flavor, which is my first choice for medication. Also, there was no aftertaste.

I rarely write product reviews, only really if the product wasn’t what it said it was. I’ve taken this product for the past year or so and I think it has changed my life. I used to take so much zinc picolinate, and I had to take upwards of 250 mg per day to feel like it was helping. I think I have a genetic mutation where I use up way more zinc than the average person (pyroluria) Anyways, I listened to a YouTube video by Chris Masterjohn about zinc picolinate. Ultimately he says that zinc picolinate is absorbed really well in the gi tract, that’s why there are claims that it’s the best form of zinc. But then he goes on later to say that they found more zinc In the urine, meaning that the zinc was so tightly bound to the picolinate that it didn’t drop the zinc off in the tissues but was carried right out of the body into the urine. And that was a light bulb moment for me. I’ve used zinc picolinate for all my life and barely saw any results. So I decided to try other forms of zinc. Long story short, I don’t know why but my body likes this one the best. The zinc monomethione is a great form but they don’t make it in a high enough dosage for me. AND EVERY SINGLE time I go a couple weeks or so without taking zinc, I get violently nauseous every single time I try to take zinc again. BUT IT GOES AWAY AFTER A COUPLE DAYS. Sometimes I have to dump half the pill out to work back up to the full strength dosage. But my heart drops every time I read a review and it says they stopped because they got very sick from zinc. Most of the time it’s because you are so deficient that your body can’t handle all that zinc at once. I used to have perioral dermatitis for the longest time and some acne along my jawline. With this product I saw dramatic changes so instantly. My face calmed down and I just feel like it’s clean. Best feeling ever. Also strangely whenever I take this my appetite normalizes. Without zinc my body just wants to eat, even when it’s full. With this, I don’t snack as much at night and I want “good food”. It takes away my mind hunger. I don’t know how but it’s amazing. Anyways I hope this helps someone. And no I was not paid to write this review. I just love the supplement.

I could not find any Zinc Sulfate at the local stores where I live. Amazon had several choices and I chose this one based on the reviews and price per dose. I am not sorry that I chose this one. Quality product and at a fair price. We should all be taking Zinc Sulfate in this crazy world unless you have an allergy. It builds up your immune system to help you to fend off the nasty bugs floating around these days. I recommend this brand for the quality and value that you will get.

I was so delighted to find this PlusPharma brand of Zinc Sulfate 220 mg (which provides 50 mg of zinc). For many years I had been using Zinc Sulfate from Rising and their product has, apparently, been discontinued. But now that I've found PlusPharma I would not go back to the Rising product even if it got reinstated. I really appreciate that the gel caps are small and clear since so many manufacturers use colored gel capsules. They are tasteless and easy to swallow. The price is very reasonable, which is another way that the company supports access to healthy supplements. I'm not sure why the Amazon review system has a category for "warmth" for rating this product but I have not experienced "warmth" in use.

After a bunch of sickness was going around, I gave these to both my teenage children with supper. I didn't mention anything to either of them about other's commenting on the possible side effects. My son had no problem taking these zinc pills but late in the evening, I went to my daughter's room and she was laying in bed saying she felt awful. She felt nauseous and felt like she needed to vomit. He is younger and is small for his age and weighs less than her. I make sure not to give these to my daughter and I only give them to my son in very limited doses.

Great product for warts. I had a stubborn wart on a finger, read about a study that tried zinc sulfate. It was effective in the study. So, I thought, why not? I found this product (the study specified Zinc Sulfate) instead of other compounds of zinc. I took two a day for about a month, cut back to one a day because of stomach upset, and in about a month and a half the wart was gone. Recently developed eczema on my hands. I read that Zinc deficiency was found in a lot of people with eczema. So again, I ordered a new bottle, and about three weeks later my eczema is noticeably better, --but not cured. Will continue taking one a day to see what happens over a period of a couple of months. So far, this has worked better than going to the dermatologist, and getting a shot of steroids in my a$$ that made me gain about 10 lbs... best of luck to you all.
