The Shield TV is a great product, but the remote that came with my 2017 model is the worst remote I've ever owned: connectivity problems (that should be resolved now), a gimmicky volume slider that is difficult to use and easy to accidentally activate, and an expensive coin cell instead of a AA or AAA battery. I ended up getting a FLIRC so I could use a much more convenient IR remote instead, even if that meant losing voice control.This G20S is the perfect replacement remote for the Shield TV. All buttons work as expected (the menu button only appears to do something in Kodi), voice works fine, easy setup (just plug in the dongle and insert batteries) and it takes regular AAA batteries. In my setup (Shield TV - AVR - TV) HDMI CEC routes the volume buttons to my AVR, and makes the power button toggle power on all three devices. Perfect.There are a couple of G20S remotes available on Amazon. I don't know if they are identical, but this was the cheapest one I could find. Unless you want to wait for the new Shield TV remote from NVIDIA ($29.99 and no dedicated mute button (you have to remap the menu button)), I strongly suggest you get this for your Shield TV.

Been using this remote for a little while now and i must say it is working very well so far.I likethe simplicity of it.Just the right amount of buttons.No need for a back light i can rememberwhere they all are.It seems to be very responsive with all the buttons also.I turned the speedof the air mouse all the way down and it seems very stable.The voice button is nice my old remotedid not have one.I like that does use aaa batteries.I use rechargable batteries and keep a fewcharged at all times.I did install the LeanKey Keyboard from the play store on the Shield TV andit works much better than the already installed.Yes from my experience i would recommend thisremote.

The little remote for the Nvidia Shield TV box is notoriously wonky. I have two shields and the remote for one was never right on top of the fact that it chewed through those thin disc batteries. This remote takes two AAA batteries, so automatic plus there. The little receiver plugs into the usb, and it works instantly. There is no pairing or firmware updates. It just works. It doesn't have IR, so there is no pairing for TV control unfortunately. If you need an all-in-one, then a Harmony is probably more of what you are looking for, but if you need a simple remote to manage your android box, this is the one.

I like the form factor of this remote. The button layout is simple and is great for muscle memory. It is very good with battery life. All the button functions are compatible with my philips android tv.The mic on the remote has good voice recognition so I don’t have to repeat myself when I am giving voice commands. I have no problems recommending this the remote to any android tv user. It’s a good bang for your buck.

The remote that came with our Nvidia Shield stopped working and it’s apparently very difficult to find a replacement OEM Shield remote (who knew?)Anyway, this remote is a perfect replacement, and I like it a lot better than the one that came with the Shield. It can work as a mouse/pointer or as a “basic” remote, which is how we use it. All features work perfectly, response is instant, it works flawlessly every time I pick it up, and I don’t think there was any setup required — we just turned it on and it worked. Can’t get much easier than that.

I like the air mouse and the functionality with my android TV box. It's a nice remote and has the buttons that I need. The issue is with the IR function. I bought this remote because I wanted a single remote to control the android box as well as turn on and off my TV which uses IR. Pairing was pretty straight-forward however I have to push the button a number of times holding the remote in various positions in order for it to register on the TV. Regular TV works just fine so there's nothing blocking the sensor etc. It sometimes does the job but I had much higher expectations.

So i bought this remote originally for my Android TV Mi Box S that I got around x-mas 2018 after it's remote failed swimming in the toilet and this remote worked great for the Mi Box. Fast forward, Black Friday 2019 and a amazing sale on 65" Hisense TVs running on the Android TV OS so I picked one up. Today, Jan 2020, I just plugged this remote's rf usb dongle into the Hisense's USB port and I am happy to report that it works on it. 👍

I needed a new remote for my Nvidia Shield. Remote is sleek. Air mouse function works very well. My only complaint is that the plastic edges feel a little sharp in my hand. My girl's nail file took care of that issue. I highly recommend this remote for it's functionality.Update: Remote still working very good. But I have noticed the lettering is already disappearing off of the buttons. Down to 3 stars because of this.

I purchased this device to replace a failing remote control on my Nvidia Shield TV. This device has more than adequately replaced the previous remote and then some.The buttons are snappy and I rarely need to press a button twice to get a response from the target device.The biggest issue I've noticed with this remote is the mouse function. I have to aim my hand in weird directions to get the mouse cursor to move on screen, which kind of defeats the purpose of a quick mouse movement.Besides that, this remote is perfect if you are looking for something for an Android TV. I'm actually thinking of picking one up to use for a media center in my van.

Since I used MIBox remote, it became my dream remote. 1) Proper size in hand, not too big, not too small. 2) Proper holding part, the one that has no button. 3) The most commonly used buttons (OK, 4 arrows, back, home, volume-+, Next, Prev, etc., can be blindly operated because not only their positions are easily remembered, their shapes as well.As soon as I received my first one, I ordered another one!

Almost the best controller ever made and I would argue it is already.Imagine if they added a keyboard on the back and backlit the whole thing with recharging lithium battery !!!! Wtf. No one would ever buy anything but this one controller ever again. Flawless. Oh and add a damn tab button on the keyboard. Why does no keyboards have a tab button?

Au départ la qualité semble très de base.. Mais quand on essai les boutons c'est la que le wow vient !! La meilleur manette que j'ai testé et de loin jusqu'à maintenant elle est parfaite très rapide même mieux que celle de la nvdia shield intégrée... Je recommande à 110%!!

Works as advertised. Wished the back button was on it's own similar to the volume button. Setup was easy. Just plug it in and works right away. My 2017 Shield remote went south on me so this was a nice alternative.
