BiraBira Die Cutting & Embossing Machine Starter Kit, Feeding Slot: 6 1/4"

I shopped and waited awhile to purchase this little thing- coloring models, brands, etc. I finally purchased and am happy I did. What really caught my attention is the dial that would allow me to change pressure. So I felt it would be better for a variety of materials and buy more customized. It’s easy to use and easy enough to put away. But I wish the “starter” set included a few different dies and embossing plates. The options really are only enough to test out cuz they aren’t my aesthetic at all.

I simply couldn't rationalize the cost of the name brand, heavily marketed, die-cutting machines so I told myself I did not need one and would not buy one. Of course, a large percentage of the online card-making videos use embossing or die-cutting in some way, so my resolve was sorely tested! I'd purchased a Bira stamping platform when I wanted one (also after a battle of want vs. need!) and also found the prices of the name brand ones ridiculous and I was pleased with the function and quality. So, when I saw that there was a die-cutting machine from Bira, and the price seemed reasonable, I ordered it. I'm happy to have it and have been successful cutting and embossing with any brand dies and folders. I actually think the Bira is better with its adjustable pressure than the brands that have to be shimmed. So, if you don't care about the name printed on the machine and just want to get the job done, I would definitely recommend the Bira.

Very heavy & bulky! I don’t know how it compares to the other sizes they have to offer. I’m not sure if it was me but I found this machine to be very difficult to work with. I struggled with it so much that I have listed it elsewhere in hopes that I can recoup some of my money. Im quite disappointed very expensive and very difficult to use. In my experience it was very confusing and I had a hard time getting it to work properly. There are other size options but they seem to all function the same way. I don’t recommend any of the sizes.

I love it. I have spellbinders, sixxiz machines of various models. I was intrigued by the adjustable pressure. I can say I am more than pleased. I have a number of very intricate dies that I had just given up on. Tried cutting this way, that way, run thru multiple times, add shims, etc without success. Decided to try them and to my surprise, one time thru with success. Can't say enough about this machine. I almost didn't buy because I certainly did not need another die cut machine but so glad I did decide to purchase it.

I am more than happy with my new Bira . It came quickly, is nice looking and easy to use. It is just a bit larger and heavier than my old Cuttlebug. I love the adjustability feature and the fact you only need 2 plates. I did buy the magnetic plate and the silicone pad but they aren’t necessary to be successful. I believe it is the same machine being sold by Close to My Heart and Gina K only with their names on it and pricier. Just get the Bira!
