Crown Bees Summer Bee Holes, Variety Pack

I simply bundled about 10 of these, tied with a rubber band, and cotton string, then hang them in sheltered places around the yard. We get very little summer rain, so I now have many choices for my bee friends. In a rainy area, you could make a shelter with a small plastic water bottle

much easier than rolling my own. Now I just need to buy some bee larvae to load them in the spring!

As expected

I used these for my bees this spring, and the bees definitely showed selective preferences. My final harvest of tubes included several of each type, even though my bees had all come in one size of tube. I don't know if the bees would have settled for a one-size-fits-all tube, but they obviously *prefer* to choose from a variety. Based on tube count, I suspect I have about ten-fold the number of bees I started with. I'll be ordering another variety pack of tubes for next year's bees, to mix in with the empties I still have from this year.
