Almay Eye Shadow Softies can be summed up in four words: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. The cosmetics associate at my local drugstore knows I review for Amazon, and frequently gives me samples of products to review for her and her customers. I hadn't bought Almay eye shadows before because I'm a person who can't stand sticking my fingers in my eyes, and I hate to spend money on separate applicators. As I discovered, you can't even apply this product with those! All you'll get from Eye Shadow Softies is a sprinkle of color. She gave me compacts of the Vintage Grape and Lilac colors to sample, and get back to her.I tried the Vintage Grape first. I used an applicator....and used it....and used it, and could not get more than a light dusting of color. Understand here, I'm not a lady who plasters her face with thick layers of paint. I do, however, require a thick application because my eyelids are oily and quickly absorb cosmetic products, and I use serum moisturizer. I couldn't get enough color to notice from a meter away. I rubbed the powder with the applicator, tried it with my fingers....and the product was getting a visible pit in it. I finally got enough on to give me a noticeable color. Oh - and my skin absorbed that in two hours.Thinking it might just be idiot me, I tried the Lilac the next day. The results were no better.If you don't like sticking fingers on your lids, hate buying applicators and like more than a dust of shade, Almay Eye Shadow Softies are not for you. I'm so glad I didn't have to pay for this products, and won't buy them again. Sorry, can't recommend this at all, and I'm disappointed because Almay products are so good for people with allergies (and that's me, too).
