Tool you are glad to have when needed
Time saver. I was going to use a friends tool, but for the price it is a great tool to have on hand. Works beautifully. I should have bought one long time ago. Alot cheaper to make replacement cables or repair some than buying generic replacements that end up being too long.

Worth the investment if you're doing more than 10-15 crimps.
Best investment! I should have bought this crimper a long time ago! I started to install Solar in my RV and got the cheap hand-operated crimper and really struggled with 2/0 lugs...I regret not buying this hydraulic crimper sooner: The crimps are beautiful, professional looking and are efortlewssly done.

Makes life easier!!!
Bought this based off price and reviews. Bought for working with battery cables and heavy lugs. Works great, other than the dies being slightly off. I needed to use one die the correct size and one die the next size smaller to get a really tight crimp. And like others have said, it tends to squish the material out and leave a sharp edge. I just spun the cable 90 degrees and crimped down the edge enough so that it was no longer sharp. No leakage, comes with extra o rings, makes the job easy. Would love to give a 5 star, but I just can’t as the dies are slightly off.

Works great
This worked great for me. I made a lot of battery cables with 4 AWG and sever connections with 6 AWG. The dies are clearly labeled and it's a very simple device to figure out.

Dies are wrong, leaks oil, on/off dial is backwards...
This thing was a bad purchasing decision by me. Multiple issues: the simplest problem is that the on/off dial is backwards - which is easy enough to figure out but still weird. The dies that were included are all stamped with both a numeric value AND an AWG value - but the dies for AWG do not map to the actual AWG wire sizes in any consistent fashion. Every time I needed to crimp a cable I just had to eyeball it and try multiple dies until I found one that (sort of) fit. The most annoying thing is that it's impossible to RELIABLY get the hydraulic action to actually work. You'd think/expect that turning the dial to one end or the other (because, remember, it's labelled wrong!) would put the tool into "pump to close" mode. But it doesn't. Usually I had to fidget with the dial where it's set "almost but not quite" to the end of the turn, and then whatever hydraulic magic would engage and it would actually pump/compress -- at least for a little while. At least half the cables I made I ran into the case where I'd find that sweet sweet spot on the dial, and the piston would start to close, and about the time it got to putting pressure on the lug it would stop compressing, and I'd have to fidget with it again to get it to start compressing... and if you turn the dial even a millimeter too far the other way, the piston releases and all that work is wasted and you have to start again. So instead of what should take about 90 seconds (select correct die, load die, load lug, put wire in lug, turn dial, pump handle about 10 times) ended up taking 5-10 minutes for every connection I needed to make. It was awful. On top of that, the hydraulic oil chamber leaked fluid and ruined a shirt of mine - at least it was a cheap one. Maybe I just got a bad one and somehow that covers the dial and the leaking, but the dies are still wrong.

Makes Crimping Easy – A Game Changer for Wire Lug and Terminal Work
Makes Crimping Easy – A Game Changer for Wire Lug and Terminal Work This AMZCNC hydraulic crimping tool earns every bit of 5 stars and has completely changed how I approach wire lug and terminal crimping work. Before picking this up, crimping larger gauge wire terminals was a frustrating, inconsistent process with manual ratchet crimpers. The hydraulic action on this tool makes clean, professional-grade crimps on wire from 12 AWG all the way up to 2/0 AWG effortless—just position the lug, pump the handle, and the hydraulic pressure delivers a perfectly compressed, solid crimp every single time without excessive hand strain or inconsistent results. The 9 pairs of included dies cover virtually every common wire gauge and lug size I've encountered across solar system builds, RV wiring, and automotive applications without needing additional die purchases. The build quality feels solid and well-engineered for a hand-operated hydraulic tool, and the consistent crimp quality it produces gives real confidence in the electrical connections and mechanical strength of every terminal. For anyone doing serious 12V electrical work involving battery cables, inverter connections, solar wiring, or any application requiring properly crimped lugs, this tool pays for itself quickly in time saved and connection quality improved. If crimping larger gauge wire terminals has been a pain point in your electrical builds, this hydraulic crimper is the solution. Highly recommended.

Great replacement
Bought this as the first one broke down while using. Works perfectly and the spring under the handle so it returns after depressing is a great feature. Really happy with it only marked down sturdiness as not used it enough but already done more then the one previously bought from another brand, so don’t see it not lasting.

Sizes mislabelled. Closest to 50mm2 is 35..
The dies are mislabelled. For example, trying to crimp a 50mm2 with the 50 die set just doesn’t clamp tight enough and the lug slides right off. This could be very dangerous in the hands of someone that’s not sure of what they are doing. I have to use the 35 for 50mm2. Tempted to return it as a result.
