ClearOne Chat 160 Group Speakerphone - 910-156-251

I used this phone during our board meeting and the sound quality was excellent! There were 16 people in the room and this device worked extremely well. We also use it in a smaller setting as there is almost no feedback and both parties can hear and be heard extremely well.I would recommend this for anyone who just wants a easy to setup and use device that works well.

Not what we needed

We use the Chat 160 everyday for Skype calls with a team distributed around the world. The speaker and microphones are much better than what is provided in my Mac Book Pro. I didn't have any issues with Skype or GoToMeeting recognizing the device.I would definitely recommend the product if it fits in your budget.

Great phone for Skype use. Phone died about 6 months after we bought it. We return the defective phone and shipped it back to them two months ago. Continue to get auto email reply's, but not progress on getting a replacement. $300+ for a conference phone that worked for 6 mos without any support for defective products is a problem that new buyers should be aware of before deciding to purchase this item.

The 150, 160, and 170 are the same basic hardware. The 3 mics pick up pretty well from 12 ft away, and the speaker isn't bad, if a little tinny. This is the next step up from something like the Jabra Speak 410 if you need something for a larger room. The microphone sound quality isn't great; it's limited bandwidth sounds like a telephone, unlike the USB boundary mics I've tested that give a fuller sound. Perhaps this is due to the echo cancellation circuit or to avoid background noise - the mics are pretty quiet.So why three stars? I tried to update the firmware on the unit using a firmware file I downloaded from their site. It bricked the unit. It no longer powers on, and the "recovery process" they give does nothing. I bought this used, so no warranty applies (per chatting with a rep online). I should have known better than to try this, but I'm not the only one this has happened to; others have posted this online without resolution. If your software and firmware will brick your unit - DON'T OFFER THEM.So. If you won't update firmware and you buy used, maybe 4 stars. IMO this is not worth the $300 new price. Build quality is fairly cheap.

Ok this is a "no brainer". if you're in desperate need of echo cancellation for your desktop video conference setup then there really is no other answer outside of clearone' chat 160 or 150. what this unit does is becomes the mic input, and the speaker output - via USB- for your desktop video conference system of choice.. skype, microsoft lynk, vidyo, polycom cma, to name a few. the beauty of it is that by off-lining the input and output to this unit you eliminate all audio issues that plague desktop video conference. those that have webcams sitting on top of large flat screen TVs know what I'm talking about. Echo/ feedback or slap-back caused by a webcam's built in mic sitting too close to the TV speakers.. problem solved. last but not least the audio quality on this unit is pretty darn good. I also get plenty of compliments from the far end participants stating that my audio is coming in exceptionally clear.

I was looking for a USB speaker phone for several conference rooms and came across ClearOne. They have been used in our conference rooms for around a year now and they work great. We use them for connecting to WebEx, Skype, and Zoom meetings and have never had any issues. The sounds quality is very good it never has an issue picking up everyone in the room. Our main conference room large and we have twenty people around the table regularly and still everyone was able to hear and be heard. In all we have five of these units and will add more as needed.

I bought this for a Skype conference call that I was having. There were a dozen of us at a conference table and I was able to just pull this out of the box, connect the very long USB cable to it and my laptop, click twice in Skype and it was working. The specs say it's good for 6 people and has a range of 8 feet but I was impressed by the range that seemed to easily exceed the specs. It seems a bit pricey, but it's certainly a high quality device and I'm very happy with it.
