Funny Birds Hardcover – April 25, 2013

I love the abstract art as it holds my baby's attention. The book itself is nice and compact compared to the other pop ups. My husband had pointed out that it's about predatory birds tricking others into nesting their egg and raising their young. Quite the lesson to impart onto our little girl when she's older, lol.

Philippe UG has a new fan--such whimsy and excellent use of color in his pop-ups, translated from French. Love the storyline, too. I don't like to say too much about it because the surprise of each page (in any good book) is part of the delight. (I also don't like in-depth movie reviews that give away too much; I'd rather see it only knowing the type of movie it is (biography, period piece, science fiction) so it's all fresh.

My great-niece really enjoyed receiving this book for Christmas.

I didn't know wha to expect when I purchased this item, except that it was a pop-up book about birds and I like birds. But when I received it I was delighted and pleased. The author told the story of life from beginning to end in much the same way as the stork. if one believes in such things. It was easy to follow the story with it's vibrant colors for each segment that one knew what the picture said without the words. I have a spanish neighbor who picked up this book and not speaking or reading English very well knew what the story was about. A great book for children.Nene

Beautiful, colorful pop up books. wonderful, fun illustrations.

This is a fantastic pop up book! We picked it up at the ICA in Boston and were pleasantly suprised. This book was originally written in French so the translation is interesting, not bad, but don't expect any rhyming lines. From the time you open the first page, you are immediately sucked into the off the page pop ups and brilliant color. These are huge intricate pop ups. If you love David Pelham, you will enjoy this book.

This book should never been offered for sale because the condition is horrible. Parts of the binding and cover are torn off, the edges of the book are frayed, and many of the pop-ups have missing parts. The original book itself is beautiful, but this one is so worn and damaged it should not have been carried for sale.

Artwork and pop-ups were superb, the story line was slightly disappointing from the perspective of me as the adult, the grandchildren loved the pop-ups but were not really interested in the story.

The pop out figures are amazing and full of colour. I bought it for my 3 years old son and he really loves it.
