Bracht Cabinet Scraper - Egg Shape

I have used a lot of cabinet/card scrapers and this is definitely one of the best commercial scrapers available. It holds a burr very well that lasts longer than most other scrapers. I find the egg shape is more useful, easier to work with and sharpen than a gooseneck. I use this scraper for making violins and it has become my scraper of choice for most shaping and smoothing tasks.

Crap

Hate sandpaper, love scrapers. And this is one of the best for carved cups and spoons.

Expected it to have to be filed and burnished before use, but its edge was actually irregular with barbs in 2 places.
