Delicious pickles, great with rice and beer
There are many different kinds of Japanese pickles, and I liked every one I ever tried. This one is no exception, which is crunchy, sweet and salty at the same time. Each slice has the main outside round from the cucumber, and a filling of likely the pickled leaves of the plant. The two parts taste quite different, so it is like I got 2 pickles for 1. The filling is darker in color, with a sandalwood-like scent, a fairly common flavor in Japanese pickles. The cucumber part taste like the Chinese "saucy pickles" I grew up with (the dark brown kind), just as crunchy with similar sweet/salty flavor. I highly recommend this.

Firm and crunchy, with a rich, earthy pickled flavor
Amazing depth to the pickling flavor, rich and smooth reminiscent of nukazuke with just the right amount of light saltiness and tartness. The teppouzuke came in one large piece, so how much or how little to cut up for any given side is entirely up to oneself. There are perhaps 10 - 12 small side dishes worth of teppouzuke, again depending upon how much or how little one puts into a side dish. The texture is firm and crunchy, with a very satisfying mouth-feel. Absolutely love this product.(^_^)

Great taste + Great digestion aid
In my search to find authentic takuan I ran across this Japanese pickle... It lacks the funk that most fermented pickles have but that’s not a bad thing at all. It smells like soy sauce and the flavor of spicy soy sauce is a real treat. The spicy-ness is really almost more like a sweet-heat flavor than a burning sensation. Very pleasant. If you enjoy crunchy, fermented vegetables you should really try these.

Not Very Good
This narazuke didn't have the sake taste. Not worth the money. I won't purchase this product again.

Very Goody
Been making a lot of simple rice bowls at home and must say that this is one of the most tasty thing with plain rice. However, not a big fan of the value per price, so only get this as a treat as is worth the experience.
