A good book about the mig-29
Here in Brazil, I read this good book. This book has more than 50% of its space dedicated to photos. They are mainly B&W photos. Between pages 65 and 77 there's about twenty photos with colour. This book is concise and easy to read and understand. This book also has first class paper and shape.Even so, I found these problems with this book:1-On page 57 his book tells that only on Gulf War in 1991, mig-29 was used in combat. In fact, the mig-29 was used in Eritrean-Ethiopian War. And it was defeated by Ethiopian Su-27 (piloted by mercenaries), even downing an Eritrean Su-25. Mig-29 was also used by former Yugoslavia against NATO fighters and was also defeated.2-There's no draws with the interior of the mig-29.3-The photos aren't first class photos. They are mainly just good.4-About the mig-29's weapons the pages 93 and 94 are about mig 29's weapons, but about mig-29's missiles aren't well covered.Even so, this book is a good choice to learn about the mig-29.

For fans of Russian aircraft
If you are a MiG 29 fan, then you must have this book! As the title suggests the content is mainly focused on the design, development and technical aspects of the aircraft. There are also chapters devoted to service given in various air forces.Of particular note are the opening chapters containing various b & w photos of prototype aircraft and detailing the test flights made. You really do get a sense that MiG was pushing the known flight envelope to create a very special aircraft.I only have two criticisms. One, that the section on service mentions absolutely nothing regarding the 6 Yugoslavian MiG 29s lost in the Kosovo War or the factors involved there. Two, while more of a nice to have rather then an essential, a brief section on the development of the RD-33 engine would have been appropriate. In short, I am a fan of Russian aircraft and this book is an absolute gem to find.

Excellent summary of this aircraft.
This book covered the development of the Mig-29, and features every model or variant developed up to its publication. The text does a nice job of explaining the sometimes complicated process of aircraft development, especially for Russian aircraft since the 1990's. there is an abundance of data, and the pictures are good, and well captioned. It is clear that the author is a fan of the Fulcrum! The book has 4 pages of color photos and there is an overview of model kits available for the Mig-29. There are comparisons between the Fulcrum and western aircraft like the F-16 and F/A-18 in tables of data. In all, a great resource for information about this airplane.

From Russia with Love
Many Years ago, the Mig-29 was surrounded by an aura of specullation and mystery the only reference to it's existence were murky DoD satellite images, and some crude artwork depicting it as a cross between an F-18 & F-14. In this Volume author Yefim Gordon brings us a treasure trove of hard data & photos of this very capable warbird.

Great Details on A Great Fighter Plane
This is the best book I have seen to date on one of the premier foreign fighter planes. Lots of great close-ups of the weapons and other systems.

Very detailed
This book gives a look inside a development and operational life of a pure fighter aircraft. A must have for all of who like soviet/russian combat aircrafts.

Good book
I got this book as I build plane kits and needed a great reference source for colour schemes. Sadly, while the pictures are good quality, there is only a minute colour section and the rest are in black in white. The colour section only features 1 colour scheme which is a disappointment.Saying that, I really like this book! Plenty of up close pictures which will be invaluable for modelling the Mig 29, and one which I wil keep going back to. I like this plane!

Good piece of information.
This book is a reasonably cheap alternative to Mig fans who can't afford to buy the disproportionately priced "bibles" on the subject found on the Net. Packed with full information it should satisfy every aviation reader.
