Zen Formosa Sushi Making Kit, Premium Design for Beginner with Step-By-Step Picture Instruction

I ordered this sushi making kit because my 6 year old son is obsessed with making sushi. Making my own sushi isn't something new to me, but I wanted something special for my son to use. Unfortunately, this is not the kit that is something special for my son. We were dissapointed from the moment we opened the shipping package as the kit box had fallen apart and the kit contents were rolling about. No worries though, that's something we could totally overlook. However, as soon as we started looking at the kit pieces, it was clear that quality was not a consideration when our particular kit was manufactured. Plastic was still attached between the cutting sections (the guides to cut your rolls into evenly proportioned pieces), and the forms are HUGE! So huge, that a normal sized adult would have a difficult time not taking 2-3 bites for each piece. The form pieces did not fit well together and the recipe book is a joke. There are no recipes or different roll suggestions. In fact, the instructions for assembling the form for each roll are lacking. When we finally did get it put together, forcing the form pieces together, we made our rolls, but had to worry and pay attention that we didnt get pieces of plastic in our rolls from the cutting sections. Not fun at all.If this kit had been what I expected it to be, it would have ROCKED almost soley because of the shape choices. Sadly, we are very unimpressed.

I was excited to purchase this sushi maker kit for review during a promotional period because my husband loves sushi and I'm tired of spending hundreds when we go out to eat it! Sushi is expensive! Anyway, it arrived fairly quickly. It came with everything you will need to make sushi and even 3 different shape type things for the sushi. I am a beginner at this sushi business and this is perfect for me!! The instructions were easy to follow and the sushi came out great! My husband was definitely happy! Even more so...the kids were happy and want to help the next time we make sushi. All the items are made of a hard sturdy plastic and were boxed neatly in the box. I have a few friends who love sushi and will be purchasing another one of these kits for their house! I highly recommend this Zen Fermosa Sushi Making kit!! *Any opinions expressed are none other than my own.

My wife and I thought that this device was too complicated for the task. We bought a far simpler device in Japan ($5. US) that does the same trick with one move--but it was made smaller sushi and we wanted a larger roll. But this is not the concept we envisioned. Nice try though.

I bought this on sale for my boyfriend. He has been asking for months for a sushi kit. Well we tried it out last night and man! Its hard at first to get the right amount of rice without overfilling it. The first roll we made was so big , I had to use two seaweed wraps. After a while it became easier. I highly recommend this. It has the pieces for round,square and triangle rolls. I do not recommend putting the rice in first unless you want a big mess to clean. Also a sharp knife is necessary. Otherwise you mutilate the poor roll you worked so hard to make.

The kit appears to be missing a cookbook. Too bad. The kit is nice.

I had my doubts about this and should of went with my gut. On the first use the large mold got stuck together and broke into pieces when I tried to take it apart. I'll stick with hand rolling.

This is a quick way to make sushi rolls quickly and efficiently. Actually looks like what you get in the sushi restaurant. I am a big fan already. Try all veggies, like avocado and cucumber and sliced carrot. It's very good.

Kind of janky. Seems like I paid a bunch for a box of plastic.
