An awesome read (Spoilers pervious volumes not this one)
If you have not read the previous volumes I encourage you to read them and turn back now.If your still with me, then here is my review:Sela Mathers: the book keeper; is slowly but surely coming to head with a nemesis briefly seen at the end of volume 3. As Sela tries to use the Grimm Book to warn people and set them on the right path, the feisty redhead contorts the message. Ice Queens, Demon Lords and epic struggles ahead. This was very good, but it did not blow me away, so four stars.

Zenoscope's take on fairy tales
I don't know much about comic books and am no expert on the subject but these volumes from Zenoscope are enjoyable. Many of the stories are ones heard at school or perhaps from a parent, but each has a unique twist at the end. The stories are a bit gruesome but not to the point that it makes the book disgusting. The artwork is very well done and the colors used are great. I enjoyed fairy tales as a little boy and I enjoy these now with a new take on the stories as an adult.

Nice art
I liked the art, but I found the storytelling a bit simplistic and too focused on conveying a moral. More focus on telling a good story would have helped. There may have been things I missed out on because I have not read any earlier issues. The background between the two main characters, for instance. I got this one because I am a big fan of Rapunzel and the Snow Queen. While I liked the art, I have read better adaptations of both tales. The frequent depiction of women in scanty clothing makes me think that this is probably not for young children, but an older demographic.

Belinda's story really begins
For those of you who have begun the Grimm Fairy Tales journey by reading volumes 1-3, you know that this story has two main characters Sela and Belinda. This is the first time we're starting to learn a bit more about Belinda's past and how she's tied to this magical book. I really like the Sorcerer's Apprentice and the Boy Who Cried Wolf. You can tell that the writers are starting to build this story past a simple question of which path will you choose. Now you're starting to understand the influence of Sela and Belinda and how they have been fighting this battle for longer than we thought. Characters are starting to reappear and there's more at stake, which simply adds more depth to the story. It may have been a simple concept at the beginning, but it's quickly becoming much more. This is the first time I've ever had to say anything truly negative about the artwork. To each their own. I don't read these books to look at "bimbos", but won't tell a company not to sell what clearly works. I'm talking about poorly executed art. In Rapunzel, I could barely tell the difference between the characters Rita and Belinda. Why is this a big deal? One is a brunette, mousey character and the other is a sexy, fiery redhead. You should be able to see a stark difference instantly. I ignored it, but the issue came up again in the last story Snow White vs. Rose Red. Some of the drawings are really bad. One of the comics that had good artwork used a dark green background to the text boxes, which made it really hard to read the black font.I will say in Zenescope's defense that I've read the rest of the Grimm Fairy Tales series and they don't have this issue again. Perhaps they were weeding out artists or were trying out new styles? I don't know, but it didn't work. The story lines are still really good and it's definitely worth reading. It's just not my favorite out of the series.

Belinda's rising...
This series of Grimm inspired adult versions of classic tales achieved maturity. And the villainess presented in previous installments must get her share of the spotlight. The story arcs presented in this compilation of nÂș.s 19 - 24 give the reader a close view on Belinda's past, origins, hates and source of power. The struggle between the two champions, Sela and Belinda will make casualties and escalates to deadly results. You will find versions of "Rapunzel", "The boy who cried wolf", "The sorcerer's apprentice", "The snow queen", "Snow white and Rose red" and the short story "The lamp". The stories are all interesting although they have relatively few surprises (except "Snow white and Rose red"), and the interior art is quite variable. I like a lot Jordan Gunderson's art for example and Mark dos Santos is an expert ink artist, but there are other artists that, although quite good, aren't at the same level in my opinion.A major strength of this series is, as always, the absolutely gorgeous cover gallery by Al Rio, Erik Basaldua and Joe Pekar.

Zenescope's Grimm Fairy Tales
While I do find Zenescope's versions of the fairy tales entertaining, the line art is of very variable quality. While it doesn't destroy the story, it's not the most visually pleasing comic out there. The cover is gorgeous however, and do not really reflect the art inside. Some of the plots are nice, others more confusing. The big plot-line revolving around the Snow Queen could have been ended better, and the basis for the stories could have been more original. The pattern is getting slightly repetitive from the previous volumes. But all that said, I was entertained and I liked it.

neat and beautiful
in this collection of grimm fairy tales i was never let down by any artwork, the storys just come alive on a 10 inch tablet. also the option to "zoom" in on the pages and keep jumping with a single tap is really nice and should convince about any comic book fan to actually spend the money and buy the book instead of ripping the off the internet and reading with a not so nice app. at least for me it's the way it works, sometimes i glimpse into a rip and if i like it i pay and download it officially
