I impressed with all the data this little thing gives you from my vehicle. Love it. Check and clear Diagnostic codes, set perimeters for torque and much more. It's awesome because I can link to my android and watch real time data. Very easy to use. Setting up a vehicle profile was the hardest part of the whole process. I recommend this OBD 2 scanner. It's small and also has a push button light to guide you to the OBD plug on your vehicle. Review: Small and powerful reader - This is your basic wireless OBD and works with your apple devices. I used it on my 2016 Hyundai Sonata and it scanned everything correctly, although there wasn’t any wrong with my car, so can’t verify if it would actually produce codes. You need to download an third party app, the maker of the dongle provides one for you. Sometimes you can purchase additional features through the app.

Reader only works with SELECT software BEWARE
So I got too tired of always connecting my OBD2 cabled reader to clear dumb check engine light. So I bought this one and realized the BASIC software doesnt clear the OBD data. You need the PRO version. Well long story short I bought one of the apps from Apple for 10$ and it connected and can clear the darn light! Now I just leave it hooked up and when an issue arises I can clear it via my cell. The handy flash light is great if you need one in a pinch. Only negative on this item is that there is a limited amount of apps that actually work with it. So 10$ on top of its price = worth it!

Inexpensive diagnostics
Finding the app was a pain, but worth the energy. Once downloaded onto my phone, the rest was intuitive. I turned on my CRV, connected the phone and device by Bluetooth and the main screen displayed how my car was running. I just bought a used car and hope that I won’t have to use this anytime soon. But if I do, I’m hopeful that it’ll save me money in diagnostics since so far, it seems easy to use.

Made my car go berserk
Connected it to a car (2016 MDX) with no error codes just to get some fuel economy and air intake data. The moment I started the car, 17 error messages appeared on the car’s screen and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Emissions error, transmission error, etc. I immediately unplugged it and turned the car off. When I turned the car on again, I only had 2 errors. After repeating this a few times and letting the car run for about 10 mins, all of the error lights went off. I have no idea what this thing did to my car, but clearly it is capable of MAJOR miscommunication with the car’s computer. I feel lucky that the issues it caused weren’t permanent, but it’s basically useless to me.

Get Car Scanner app for IOS or you'll be out another $20 a year for Auto Doctor
Price is right. Works properly, but be sure you get Car Scanner and NOT Auto Doctor for your IOS device. Why? Auto Doctor has features disabled, including resetting the check engine light, unless you upgrade to the $20/yr pro version, while Car Scanner does all at no additional charge. The installation guide implies that Auto Doctor is the default recommended app. While a slick interface, the extra $20 a year otherwise just gets you the same functionality as the free Car Scanner. Otherwise works OK although a few places in the instructions are wrong, and you have to figure out what to do. I suspect it may vary with vehicle, but I'm not sure. I used it on a 2000 Subaru to clear a bogus cat convertor performance fault that I've had since 80,000 miles (now is 225,000). Once installed and working, it should be OK.

Easy setup
Setup was super easy. After plugging the palm-size device into my car and downloading the app on my phone, the connection was easily established via Bluetooth. I got the Auto Doctor app in the App store on my iPhone. It's a free app, but there are some extra paid features in there. This app will help you read the diagnostic trouble codes, so that you can understand what your check engine light means and that's where the value really comes in.

Perfect tool for maintaining your car!
Works great! Had a check engine code that let me know what was wrong with the car without having to go to a shop and possibly get up charged or made to believe it was something serious. Got what I needed and fixed it myself. Also the app that you use to read the data is very accurate and easy to read.

I have had this device for a few years, used on several vehicles and remains in place in my daily driver. I bought Torque Pro to use the reader with and I have never had an issue.
