DSC-MP100 High Sensitive Audio External Amplified Microphone for CCTV Security Camera

Well, i just happen to be back at this page and saw the review "it does not work, don't buy" (or something like that), so i feel like i should post my review.I bought 4 of these mics. I've only setup 1 so far (busy, busy, busy). The one i setup picks up sound fine throughout the room it's in. The other reviewer said that you have to be 1 foot from the mic, but in my experience that's false. He might have a faulty mic. For $5 it's a great mic.

It is a good audio external. I can hear the sound from cross street of my house.

I bought this external audio microphone to replace the one that came with the security camera. This microphone is smaller than the one that came with the security camera, but it works perfectly. I can hears the train about a mile away, sounds 100 ft down the street, and the birds chirping in the trees nearby . This audio device does not have a problem with sounds far away or close and does not get muffed out by low or loud noises. The price is cheap enough that you can not go wrong if you are in need of an external audio microphone.

This product works well over 25ft away from the mics location you can hear someone talking. I like the input and output power connections. You can use the same power connections that your cameras use instead of running a seperate power line for the mics.

Only produces a high pitched noise. Even when plugged directly in, although it does barely pick up loud bangs and noises, it's all drowned out by the high pitched noise. I'm just outside of the return policy. Seller please contact me! How can I get this resolved?

If anything I feel like the mic I got works a little too well. Great for recording, too hot for monitoring. With a 12 volt power supply and being anywhere near the mic with the audio monitor, even a phone, causes a nasty feedback loop. I downgraded the power supply to a 7V low amp usb power source for the mic nearest my DVR and monitor, it can be monitored at low volume easily now and I'am ordering more for home and work.

Unit was not operable upon installing, tested with a multimeter to show it had an internal short, sent back for refund.
