I love throwing these
I love throwing these! Great step up from 6.5" knives. They don't come wrapped, so order some 550 paracord to wrap them. Don't throw them unwrapped! They can bounce back quite fierce, make a lot of noise, and it's easier to break tips. Wrapping is easy, just refer to YouTube if you don't know how. I recommend using a regular dart board (about $10 at any thrift shop), and duct taping the outer edge before you start throwing. Don't buy "throwing knife boards" on Amazon.

good starter throwing knives, exact dimension and weight posted here
I have been practicing with a butter knife for a few days. Then I ordered this set as it has similar length and weights more than my butter knife. 12 knives weight between 3 1/8 oz and 3 3/8 oz. And the length is 8.25 inch, not 8.5 inch; as the description says. That does not bother me as I am still a beginner. All are pointy and have sharp edge. The nylon case is good to contain all 12.After one month: I finally got two pieces of oak tree trunk for target. These knives stick really well to this new target and none of them broke so far. Tree trunks do not make big noise then hit by the knives, and that will not bother neighbors. And they last very long, not like cardboard or other soft wood (pine wood, plywood, etc...). I destroyed a few pine wood target and plywood target in just a few days. They could not hold.Every so often, some of them got chipped as they are cut by others and I have to file smooth so the chipped part does not hurt my hand. This is expected and definitely not a quality issue.I strongly recommend this set for beginners. Just make sure you don't throw them at rocks or concrete, throwing knives are not designed to go thru rocks and concrete.UPDATE after 6 weeks: throwing knives do not need to have sharp blade. Sharp blade cut into each other causing slits that could injures the thrower. I correct this issue by filing the blade really dull and smooth except the last centimeter at the tip. After this no spin throwing and especially half spin throwing (holding the blade) become much easier.Note: the tip only bents if the knife do not stick to a hard target at a steep angle. This is easy to figure out so improving throwing skill will avoid this issue.Update after two months: I wrapped the handle with paracord, the handle is a bit heavier and that make half spin throwing stick on every throw at a distance between 6 and 12 feet. This is a great IMPROVEMENT I made as the success rate is very HIGH before this little change. My max throwing range is now 14 feet with this set.Update after 3 months: the silver knives stood very well, I throw them hundreds times every day, no damage. The black ones rarely used but have the tip bent very easily so I downgrade to 4 stars.Update: downgrade to 3 stars due to: 5 our of 6 black ones have bent tip although seldomly used. One silver knive has the tip broken. It is so clear that these knives are NOT made with stainless steel.

Fantastic for price, quality control lacks minorly.
Fantastic knives, great quality steel and came wicked sharp but the quality control department is lacking a little. My knives arrived with the metal pull tab for the zipper on the case broken so I had to use pliers to open them untill I put a key ring on it for a pull tab. In addition, one of the six black knives was not ground as far as the rest on the blade so it had an extra 1/4" on the tang than the rest but the blade was normal. Just set the center of gravity was off a little on one. These knives are super durable and shouldn't break on you and despite the minor problems these are a great deal and I would recommend.

they are high quality knives for a good price. The only slightly annoying thing is that ...
I gave these as a gift and haven't been able to try them out. With that being said, they are high quality knives for a good price. The only slightly annoying thing is that the knives slide around when you close the case. It would make more sense to me to have the blades pointing toward the spine so that they wouldn't slide out when you zipped it up.

To my surprise this set came sharpened I am used to throw not having to use a glove but with this blades I would recommend you use one
Normally Throwing knives do not have a sharp edge. To my surprise this set came sharpenedI am used to throw not having to use a glove but with this blades I would recommend you use one, at least until the blades get dull.I have them for a few weeks now and they are still sharp as the first day.Other than that, this is a beautiful set.

Great set of practice knives
These knives are actually well balance and easy to throw. The large set means you throw a bunch of times when practicing before you have to go search for all the knives that missed the target. Even after all the abuse the knives kept a pretty good edge.

Metal Chips Easily
Just got these maybe last week, and they’re already chipping. Unfortunately a sliver chipped off into my finger....was really bummed because I had bought a beginner set from this same brand last year and didn’t have any problems with those knives...but these ones aren’t as tough I suppose.

Good and bad
Good set for the price. Although the tips are rather fragile I would suggest these for someone who has at least some experiance in throwing because if your throw is off a little (knife leans up or down in the target) there is a good chance you will break the tip. But with the amount of knives you get for price I will suggest the buy.
