5 stars but beware of its strength. I admit, I judged another reviewer who said you must apply another lotion before using this. Why? I don’t know but I did. Then I used the product and karma laughed. I have a moisturizing night cream I love that isn’t too thick, doesn’t give me pimples etc., but I felt like it wasn’t doing anything to tackle my neglected dark spots, wrinkles, or crows feet. So I ordered this. Note: I tend to use unscented, hypoallergenic products and don’t usually have pimples but I’ll get them from time to time. Night one I tried it and in the morning my skin was very dry and a little red but I thought it just needed to adjust. Night two, I used it again and this time, in the morning my skin burned in places and I suddenly had several pimples from my skin being over dry. I took a couple days off, then remembered that review I’d read… Since then, each night I’ve been using my regular moisturizer everywhere followed by targeted application of this product only where it’s needed. A couple weeks later and I swear it’s releasing years of aging. Summary: If you have skin that is in any way sensitive, consider applying a good facial moisturizer before applying this.

I had terrible acne for my whole life with awful oily skin to go with. I refused to moisturize because I was convinced that it would just make my oily skin condition worse. 5 years ago my doctor helped me balance out my hormones and my skin cleared so I decided since I was beginning to get up there in years I would for my 40th birthday treat my skin to some moisturizer. This I tried. I have never looked back. Within 7 days I saw a difference in my skin. It was plump and full. Dark spots were dramatically lighter and I mean by about 50% lighter. Fine lines in my forehead were less noticeable. And I am now a Neutrogena moisturizer fan big time. I love their rapid wrinkle repair lineup for the retinol content because retinol is also good for acne prone skin. My skin literally drinks this moisturizer. I use both the daytime with the spf 30 and the nighttime without sunscreen. My skin is happy and I have confidence I didn’t have for about 30 of the last 45 years. Try it. You won’t be disappointed

Here is my thorough review of this product. This is coming from a woman who has sensitive, combination, multiple-ethnicity skin, who lives in varying climates. My skin demands much of my attention, so I try tons of products to see what I'm allergic to and not. My skin is also dry yet oily, endures dry, cold Colorado weather and hot, humid Georgia climates. I have the fragile, pale delicacy of Japanese skin, with the large pores and wrinkle prone American side thrown in. Now let's get to this product. Neutrogena Night Serum claims to fight wrinkles by helping to moisturize and infusing your skin with retinol. Now I'm still a young woman, so I bought this mostly to prevent future wrinkles, fight the fine lines I currently have from all the sun and winter winds I deal with daily, to help balance my combination skin, and to even out my skin tone since every flaw shows up on my light complexion. PROS: - decent sized bottle for the price (use nightly for up to 2 months) - easy to use pump (a single pump is enough for one night's use) - almost no scent - goes on smooth and even - doesn't cause acne (as long as you blend evenly) - perfectly safe for my skin (which is allergic to pretty much everything) - keeps my face moisturized all night - mixes well with serums without reacting (such as 100% hyalauric acid or vitamin c) - the retinol is a nice addition to your nightly moisturizer - safe to use close to your eyes/on your eyelids without causing a reaction CONS: - bottle warns you will feel a warm, tingling sensation (yes, yes you will, because it feels like a 30 second sunburn that slowly ebbs and turns your skin flush red) - haven't seen permanent differences in my fine wrinkles over time, but in the mornings my face is brighter, clearer, and more plump than when I go without - leaves my skin oily the next morning until I wash it, so I highly recommend using it at night only and never as a daytime serum under makeup - is a little intense in humid weather, and will cause acne if you don't blend thoroughly - is a little too dry in windy and cold weather, and needs an additional face cream on top to prevent drying over the course of the night - not entirely a con, but the serum has pearlescent sparkles (it won't fall into your eyes or irritate your contact lens, but it will make your black towels/robe/pajamas a little sparkly over time) OVERALL: I'd buy it again. I don't think it's very useful to use alone, but I like using it as part of my 5-Step Japanese Skincare Routine (foam cleanser, toner, serum, eye cream, face cream or lotion). I only use it at night as instructed, simply because it does make my face red and tingly and would make me look sunburned during the daytime. This tingling isn't the most pleasant feeling, but the bottle claims it means this is working. I don't know to trust that, or assume it's a coverup for some flaw in the recipe. But I have yet to see a downside to using this as a longterm preventative for fine wrinkles. It's suitable for people of different ethnicities, with sensitive skin, in different climates.

Okay, DO NOT use this on or near your eyes. It is NOT an eye cream. And use only a tiny amount. Pearl size. If you have never used retinol you have to gradually build up to daily!!! Use it a few times a week max. Then after a few weeks use more. Retinol will burn your skin and make it peel if you use too much too fast. You also need a strong moisturizer that’s healing with it. Keep it away from your eyes. Make sure it is blended and fully absorbed. This stuff works. I was using Roc which I loved but this has gone beyond what Roc has done and it has only been one week. Also it is very very important to wear sunscreen because you will burn more from the sun with this (or any retinol!!).

I must say it's the best product I've ever used. I have the beginning of loose skin on my neck I guess due to my age and I've tried so many products. This is the only product that I use religiously on my face of my neck every night. I really haven't thought about it until today when I was getting ready and I realized my neck looks so much better I think I've been using it about 2 weeks. I put it on at night time every night and the loose skin on my neck actually looks so much tighter. For the price it is amazing I would recommend this for everyone that has loose skin on their neck or the beginning of turkey neck

This stuff is excellent at drying up those pesky nodule acne spots that simply won’t go away with regular treatments. I’ve tried other retinol and retinal products outside of prescription grade, and this is the only one that’s worked. (I also use benzoyl peroxide an salicylic acid) I can’t really speak for fine lines and wrinkles because I’ve only been using this for a week so far, and I concentrate on my acne spots. But I do think it’ll work well for those issues too. I just wanted to come on and recommend this to anyone fighting pesky acne that’s hanging out refusing to heal. A hormonal nodule I’ve had for a month with no movement has done more healing the last several days than it has previously. And a new nodule that popped up a week ago is almost completely healed (because I started using this before it has time to settle in like the other). So o highly recommend giving this a try if you’re avoiding the dermatologist for whatever reason (i personally have too many doctors and don’t want to add yet another specialist).

This is a good nightly or daily face moisturizer. It definitely makes my skin moisturized, but I wouldn’t say it’s made a difference in the wrinkles.

Product was broke cracked I like the product but I don't want to use one that's already been cracked on the outside it's leaking the moisturizer

I’m 49 and having spent hundreds of pounds over the years on creams that don’t work I was a bit sceptical given the price of this as my last retinol cream cost me £100 and was just too harsh This however is amazing and it works. Just the right consistency, it doesn’t “pill” if you use a bit too much, it’s absorbed lovely but still leaves you like you have used a night cream, best of all my fine lines are disappearing! Fine lines around my mouth have nearly gone and my eyes look so much younger, even my husband has noticed and that’s some achievement! I cannot recommend this enough, try it and you won’t be disappointed. I won’t be changing my night cream again and I’ve ordered the day cream and oil as my skin is now at 49 starting to get a little dry, not the fault of this cream though it was dry before, if you want proper results, buy this. I have extremely sensitive skin and can always rely on Neutogena to be gently and effective. I love this new anti wrinkle line, gentle, smells great and actually works.
