I may buy some better quality stuff and put it on the window itself ...
I bought two of these, one for each of my kids. We live in central Ohio so I walked out one day in late Feb/early March and noticed all the birds sitting on downspouts all over the neighborhood (it was raining that day) so I thought what the heck and put them both up. The first one I put behind a large shrub in the front side of my home, the other I put the window to the side of the house. The one behind the shrub I made sure to put my hands in a rain puddle before handling it at all and after I hung it up I threw some wet leaves on it to mask any smell (I figured what the heck-couldn't hurt) the 2nd one I did not do anything to other than hang it up. Both houses I did not put the insert in for the entry hole (not sure if that helped). Immediately we had a bird in the one behind the shrub, but nothing at all in the one that is out in the open on the side of the house. I didn't add the mirror thing to either as I heard it didn't do much. I may buy some better quality stuff and put it on the window itself so the kids can watch better as right now we only peak in once a week or so and never get a very good view. Hope this helps anyone looking to try it out!

Great for kids
I got this as a gift for my two year old nephew and he loves it. It comes with a tint to put on window so they can't see you. It took awhile for any bird to come in but after a week and a lot of food being around it they came in. It looks great for the money. It really is just a cheap solution for kids. If you want a nice one I would say build it but if you want just a fun thing to do with a child for awhile it is a great way to do it. They love it and its really cool to show them how birds are at home and teach them a lot more about wildlife.

My kids can't wait to use this!!
Quality is good. Cute concept. Gave 4 stars because we haven't installed it yet (waiting for Spring). Seems to be overpriced though, for just a plastic birdhouse...

I was a little disappointed by the cheap quality of the material (plastic) and ...
We’ve had the birdhouse for a week now with no birds checking it out (they are all over the adjacent bush and trying to build a next near out front door)...so fingers crossed they will figure it out. I was a little disappointed by the cheap quality of the material (plastic) and the fact that based on its dirty appearance out of the box it may have been repackaged.

Spying on baby birds
The construction, price, design, and idea is great for this birdhouse. Unfortunately, I think I just bought it a little late into the bird season, so I never attracted a bird family and can't comment on how it works when there are actual birds living in it. I was nervous about the suction cups, but the hold really well! I like the "do not disturb" sign, very cute idea. I look forward to hanging this in my window again next baby bird season!

Not Worth It!
Tried having it in 3 different locations. Never attracted a single bird - but 2 wasps found it the perfect place to start nests. It seems made well enough to do what it is supposed to but the birds just never came. Had it up for over 2 months before I gave up. This item looks so neat and awesome. Very disappointed the birds just dont seem to be attracted, despite hanging in several different locations which were picked based on the suggestions in the product instructions.

Dissapointed
Comes with the birdhouse, a clear plastic insert that slides into the window side of the house to give it one clear side, 2 way mirror film that sticks to your window, suction cups, a perch, and a cardboard "do not disturb" sign that you hang off one of the suction cups.I knew this birdhouse was made of plastic, not wood, but it poorer quality than I expected. The pieces barely stay together and the top actually came off when I was hanging it up and was sort of difficult to reattach. The 2 way mirror film does not prevent birds from seeing into your house. You can see right through it from both directions. The cardboard do not disturb sign does prevent birds from seeing into your house but it also prevents your from seeing into the birdhouse.I was not happy with this birdhouse. I wish I spent the extra money to get a better quality one.

No birds this year but my son is very happy with this
My five year old begged for one of these (and getting it here I didnt have to pay the 8.95 S&H which was a plus) from the TV commerical so I grapped him one from here and he loves it. I have to say I love it myself, cant wait for a bird to find it and how much fun it will be watching for eggs to hatch and grow. Not only a good "birds and the bees" lesson but just neat in general, he will get to learn how they feed, clean, build, and of course as I said grow.I would think anyone would enjoy this, I also like how it looks....It looks like real wood (its plastic) so it is not an eye sore.
