Spectre Performance (4768) 14" Offset Air Cleaner Base

I chose this product because it came with the offset stud and some of the others didn't and because the top of my air cleaner was a Spectre product. It works great and looks amasing. I get all kinds of compliments about it.The only negative is, when I was writing the order, I was informed that the free shipping would be 5-8 work days. When I submitted the order I was informed that the shoes would be here in 5-8 days, but, that the air cleaner base would maybe take 5-6 weeks to get to me. What's that all about.?? Did you have to smelt the ore and stamp out the base yourself ?? I could have bought another one for a dollar less at another site, but, I have ordered from you guys before with confidence and no issues.

looks real nice, but had to get a spacer kit as this would not sit flush with my 750 edelbrock, accelerator linkage was in the way

Could not get a 14" filter on my second gen Camaro with a HEI dist. This moved my air filter forward enough to clear. I had to shorten the stud so it cleared the hood. These old Camaro's don't have much hood clearance.

I have a '67 chevelle, small block 400, Victor JR intake, Holley 4150 carb, HEI distibutor, 3" x 1 4" air filter. My original air filter contacts a wire on the distributor cap, which this item was supposed to correct, which it does. In my case though, it also raises the filter enough that it touches the hood. Not good. A $6 riser would have done the exact same thing for me. I'll either have to figure out a way to make a perfectly straight cut on this adapter where it sits on the carb, try to find a shorter filter element, or chuck the whole thing and find a completely different filter...or cut a hole in the hood...which I won't. Having said that, it is a good product if you have enough clearance for it. update:Purchased a 2" filter to clear the hood and found another problem. This base doesn't clear the float bowl adjusting screws on my holley 4150. This product didn't work for me at all.

Haven't used yet, bought to modify air cleaner on my Buick GS when installing a Edelbrock B4B intake as it offsets the location of the original carb and I wanted air cleaner to align to the ram air hood scoops. Will mod a spare lower assembly of course and not destroy a pricey oem air cleaner.

After adding large cap HEI to my Ford 351 Cleveland, I discovered a interferance with my current filter.Fix: Add a 1 " spacer and the offset filter base. problem solved at a decent price
