Great, Heat Resistant Gloves
I don't know why, for me, throwing out old pot holders is as difficult as throwing out old tee shirts? I decided to part with my ancient pot holders & give these a try. They are great! I especially find them useful when I have to lift my 12" fry pan after sauteing & subsequently pour the contents out of the pan, because there are in essence, two handles to hold & the pan is heavy. These gloves don't slip & I can hold that hot pan securely. I imagine they will be good for BBQ'ing outside. A word of caution, they do run on the small side. I have a small hand & they are fine, actually big for my hand. Therefore, they would likely fit somebody with a medium hand easily. I'm not sure they would fit a big, burly guy though.

Heat Resistant not Heat Proof.
I have a set of these gloves that I got with a purchase of a rotisserie cooker. I loved it! So when I saw these on sale over Christmas I was excited to buy another pair. These one are not the same. They will let you grab something hot as long as it is not too hot. I could not take a hot pan out of the oven nor could I move the oven shelf to another spot. I wouldn't recommend it. Only later did I see the tag heat resistant, which means it is possible to get a burn, and I almost did.

Not reliable heat protection.
Definitely not adequate protection for the oven. Bakeware pulled out of a 350° oven gets much too hot through these gloves if held for more than 10 seconds. I don’t recommend these and wouldn’t buy them again.

Hang on to your mits
I got my new gloves today and just tested them lifting a very hot cast iron pan with no problem BUT they do not slide on or my hands easily. Sometimes it is handy to be able to remove or put on a mitt without using my other hand and I do that easily. I hold the mit with my knees and slide my hand in but not with these gloves, it's almost like putting on large latex gloves. Someone else commented that these gloves are "huge",huh? On me they are quite tight around my fingers, especially the areas close to my palms, which is what stops them sliding on and off easily. Big barbecue or a lot of baking they will probably be great but for a quick grab to move a pot or pan I'll use a mitt. JANUARY- after over a month of use and I have changed my opinion.Maybe when i started this review the "very hot cast iron pan" was not really that hot or the gloves have lost heat insulation because earlier today I was taking the same pan out of a 425 deg. oven and my hand got painfully hot.

Great Gloves!!!
I bake a lot, and work with a sugar called isomalt. This sugar comes in crystal form, and needs to be melted with water reaching a temperature of 340 degrees F. Needless to say you do not want this hot liquid sugar on your skin. I have, until now, used typical oven mittens. These Silicone Cooking Gloves are AMAZING! It's much easier to grip the heavy pot I use, and they have taken away any fear of the isomalt touching my skin. This is one of the best products I've bought all year!!!

Most disappointing! First time I used them to remove a Pyrex baking dish from the oven burned my hands. Returned immediately as worthless.

Good quality gloves but a little small for my. I usually wear a size Large glove, so it's not like I have giant hands. My wife has stolen them though and she really likes them.

Small and not very effective
Does not fit a Man's XL hand. I can pull them on but the fingers are too short. They just cover my wrists. As for protection, I picked up a baking sheet from a 425 degree oven and, in the time it took to move three fish fillets (15-20 seconds), I started to feel the heat in my hand.
