why are people saying the body pad is 5ft when the description says 43" which is less than 4ft?

I don’t know why people are saying it’s 5ft. That is incorrect. Maybe they are not good with math.

So it only lasts 2 to 3 hrs?

Unfortunately, I cannot answer your question based on cold facts rather on observation. Since my 90 something mother has no air conditioning, I needed to keep her cool during the hot summer nights, ergo my purchase of the extra large pad. Although I cannot attest to the pad remaining cool for 2 to 3 hours, I can say it provided enough coolness to keep my mother comfortable until she fell asleep. However, I did discover I was able to squeeze an extra hour of cooling comfort for my mother the next morning by having her sleep on the other side of the pad. I hope my feedback was helpful.

Mine shriveled is there free replacement.
