simple but helpful tool
These angle guides are a simple but helpful tool for anyone new to sharpening knives with a whetstone. They clip on easily and help maintain a consistent angle, which makes a big difference in getting a clean, sharp edge. The build is basic but durable enough for regular use, and having two in the pack is a nice bonus. Overall, a great low-cost accessory that takes some of the guesswork out of sharpening.

Helpful to keep your angle right
Helps guide your knife at the correct angle so you can make consistent strokes. Little big for pocket knives but works great for kitchen knives

They kinda work, but I wouldn't recommend them
They work.........sorta. I got these about half a year ago so I could try to learn how to sharpen my kitchen cutlery properly, and here's the thing about them. If you're not moving the guide around depending on what part of the blade you're sharpening, the angle is changing. And what is it that they always tell you is paramount in sharpening? Angle consistency. So you're not really doing yourself any favors with this. You'll never truly get the tip of a gyuto sharpened properly with this thing. On top of that, you'll scratch up your knife near the spine with a bunch of marks uncharacteristic of using your knife. You know how some people like character marks on their property? Well, this is like deliberately kicking a giant dent in your car door and calling it character mark. I mean, sure, you can call it that. I call it unnecessary. I also found that using this crutch didn't really give me a good feel on what a proper knife-to-stone angle should feel like. So what would I recommend instead of this thing if you want to sharpen your own knives? Head down to Wally World or your local grocery store and pick up a cheapo Chicago Cutlery or Oneida or something you won't care if it gets scratched up to hell (I use a Kuma that I picked up off of Amazon). Then head over to YouTube and look up videos on how to sharpen (Burrfection on YouTube has some great tutorials). Scratch up that knife while learning to sharpen it and don't feel bad about it, because you get better at it every time you do it.

Does the job well
These scrape the sides of the knife a touch but not enough to cause damage. They work great though and keep the knives at a perfect angle IF the knife is large enough. They don’t work on small knives.

Did Not Make the Knives sharper
This did not make sharpening easy and did not work on my knife set.

Useful
A bit of a pain to get on to the knife and the plastic scrapes away easily when installed. The ceramic inserts were round when I began, but are flat and I haven't even finished the kife. I can not recommend them for creating a new edge profile, which you'll almost certainly have to do unless you're lucky enough for it to align perfectly with your knife's edge.

Works great! Loving this little attachment
I'm surprised I didn't invest in one of these sooner. Used it on multiple knives, including of course my two chef's knives, a pairing knife, and even my pocket knife (a bit difficult with such a small blade but achieved some decent results). All of my kitchen knives are now ridiculously a lot sharper than they've ever been. Some say it damaged their knives but I really don't see how. Slip it on through the tip of the knife while holding it by the spine and you're good to go. Not a single mark was left when I was done. I only wish that it came with two of different angles instead of two 10-degree guides but I suppose it's not a bad idea to have a backup or a spare to give away to a friend. For $10 I'm happy. If the seller offers this in different angles so I can sharpen my Japanese blades I'd definitely place another order.
