One of the greatest books I’ve ever read
I wish I could have met this man. I began having OBE’s about 8 years before I read the journeys trilogy. When he talked about the out of body simulations my head nearly popped off. I’ve had a few of those and never found them described in detail anywhere else. This is the greatest book and most profound trilogy on personal spiritual exploration and out of body travel ever written. Period. Such a gem and so incredible to be experienced outside the traditional contexts of yoga and meditation. A true original work. Thank you Bob. These 3 books changed my life and made me finally enquire “what is under the hood” in an OBE. What transports the astral body or consciousness from one dimension to another?

Bob's Personal Journey (may not be yours)
I have completed all of the programs at Monroe Institute and was fortunate enough to meet Bob personally. This is his description of his own adventure, intensely personal, while he himself was struggling with the process. He gave words to an experience which is barely describable at all, and his was my inspiration for my own journeys beyond the body. This is not an instructional manual. Better use Mastering Astral Projection by Robert Bruce and Brian Mercer (which includes a CD of binaural beats just like at TMI) or Bill Buhlman's several books.I love this book because I can almost hear Bob saying those things, his inspiration, and his guidance. Too bad TMI ain't what it used to be. Bob, we really need your words even today (perhaps Carol should consider reading it)."There is only The Plan."

Robert Monroe's Second Book on OBEs
In his second book, Robert Monroe continues to describe his personal experiences with Out-Of-Body travel. By the time he wrote this book, Mr. Monroe had traveled out-of-body so often that he is able to offer almost a "map" of the astral world and it's various levels and inhabitants. Mr. Monroe describes his fascinating encounters with a number of nonphysical beings, human and otherwise. He does not present himself as a religious person, but rather as a deeply curious individual in search of answers to questions as old as time. He attempts to make sense of what happens to us after we die and equally important, why we are here in the first place. The answers to these questions turn out to be complex and anyone looking for a simple explanation based on their own religious beliefs or upbringing may be disappointed, if not disturbed. Also, by this time, he had established much of his research techniques using hemi-sync, which he describes in some detail in the book. This book is incredibly interesting and enlightening. My only complaint with the book is that Monroe often does not offer enough explanation or detail and left me with many unanswered questions. Each of Monroe's books is riveting on its own terms. However, I found that by reading the three books in order I was better able to follow Monroe's evolving understanding of the "other side".

This is a must-read for all those who are seeking answers.
If you can read only one of Robert Monroe's 3 books ("Journeys Out of the Body," "Far Journeys" and "Ultimate Journey"), "Ultimate Journey" is the one to read. Monroe's books chronicle his amazing learning experiences as his ability to travel out of the body develops and his capability to remember and to put these odysseys into words increases. Without laboring over material covered in the first two books, Monroe sums up his earlier adventures and then writes about his most recent and significant discoveries on this, his spiritual journey to understanding. If you have ever wondered if there is a God, why the Bible says that God is Love and in another place, shows God to be a vengeful being who orders the killing of many people, "Ultimate Journey" and the lessons taught to Monroe in his out-of-body state will help to clear up these questions. To say that "Ultimate Journey" will give you a whole new perspective on life, death and what lies beyond is an understatement. This is a must-read for those who are seeking answers! And, if at all possible, read all 3 books in order. "Far Journeys" is definately the most difficult to read, since much of it reflects Monroe's efforts to translate non-verbal communications from non-humans into English. But the information in that book is voluminous and well worth the effort to read it. Happy reading, fellow seekers!

I am not even finished yet however, recommend this book. I enjoy the dialogs Robert Monroe has with many different people in other dimensions.
