Vacuum Mtr/Blwr, Thru-Flow, 2 Stge, 1 Spd

This is the exact fit for all older Miele vacs having model numbers of the series 200-400. During these years, Miele bought the motors from Ametek-Lamb. I put it in my 26-year-old vacuum and it's now a brand-new machine for all intents and purposes. Extremely pleased and would highly recommend it.

I received my package of four vacuum motors several days late and upon opening them found two black wires with the leads stripped. The only problem is there isn't so much as a scrap of documentation telling you which black wire is what. I went and found Ametek's schematics and this is where the questions begin. According to the schematic there should be a date code and inspection mark on the body in a specific spot, well its not there and what is there does not match what the schematic described. Sending this out with no documentation is just ridiculous, is it a case ground with two voltage supplies? Is one ground and one voltage? All questions I can't answer because they thought that documentation wasn't important. I feel like I got scammed out of $387 because I have four lumps of cast aluminum that are useless without a proper schematic to let me know I am wiring them in correctly and not going to hook the motor up reverse polarity and fry it, maybe that's their plan to get more money from you. Overall I would not buy this again because it's worthless without documentation and I'm not even sure that this is a genuine Ametek motor due to the variance in the schematic I have seen.

To fit in the manufacturer's housing[a cylinder shape, suction on one end, discharge on other end] some adhesive backed foam insulation[comes in a roll at home improvement centers] had to be applied to the outer perimeter of the fan housing to keep a seal between the suction and discharge. screw mounted bracket keeps the motor from moving fore and aft. There is a newer version which is supposed to have much longer brush life. I couldn't find it and suspect the price increase for longer brush life would not make it worth the extra money.

I was pleased to find this motor since the factory is back ordered. It fit perfectly in our dog groomers master blaster blow dryer.

A lot less to replace the motor than to buy a new miele. By the way, the miele of the era I have has a made in usa motor. jan 15 2013 115923 New Ametek Lamb 2-Stage 5.7" Vacuum Motor Might have to switch the housing cover (from the new) one with the old one...which isn't too difficult (The difference is the flange, or not).

works great. I exact replacement much quieter. bearing on old motor wore out.
