The Daughter of Dracula is Fangtastic!!!
Starting with the basics. Draculaura comes with a stand, hairbrush, her pet Count Fabulous, a detailed Diary and a cute plastic umbrella. The Tiny bat looks rather miffed. This partly due to the fact he is wearing a pink bow on his head and a white sweater adorned with pink hearts. The umbrella does not open, but it has fabulous details. The base of it's handle is a black bat with pink embellishment. The umbrella part, itself is black with a pink ribbon closure and pink point detailing. A gray skull topper and a white heart clasp complete it's detailing. Now onto the fun part the doll itself. Draculaura's outfit is simply Fangtastic!! She sports Pink knee high boots with black ribbon detailing. The laces give off a combat boot feel . A gray and black heart detailing meets the top of her laces. The soles and heels of her boots are also gray. She sports black, fishnet leggings and a white pleated mini, complete with pink stitching. Her top is where I want to spend most of my focus, since it is so detailed! The Sleeves of her Gothic inspired top are made of black fishnet with white lace sleeve detailing. The bodice of her shirt is a pink satin material cut in a vest style with silver threading and gray buttons completing the "vest" . A high collar of white lace falls down stopping at the top of the pink satin vest, giving the look an updated, cheery Gothic feel. A pink jewel looking flower necklace give the collar a pop of color. White safety pin earrings complete her ensemble.Draculaura has her trademark heart birthmark located on her left cheek and two tiny fangs peeking out from her burgundy lips. My Draculaura's fang job was a lil shoddy, so It looks like your seeing more of her teeth . I simply like to think she's smiling. This dolls wig is styled into two long pigtails. It's coloring is of course, Draculaura's signature black with long pink streaks running through it's length. Her wig is full and easily restyled after unpacking. The bangs, however are heavily hair sprayed to her forehead. This particular Draculaura is Mattel's first introduction of the character to it's fans. The first few waves of these dolls have been known to be extremely fragile. One of the major known issues is that their legs are attached to the hip via elastic, this elastic is very fragile and can break very easily. My doll's limbs are also very loose . This is another "issue" with the dolls during the first wave. For this reason I would think about purchasing this doll for the Younger MH fan. The newer waves of Draculaura are much better at handling being played with.As a Collector of the MH dolls, I urge other adult collectors too " pull the Trigger" and buy this one. She is worth the price since Mattel is no longering making this particular Draculaura.

First Doll I've Ever Owned, and I Love Her!
Okay, first of all, I'm a guy...just to give you some context. I started liking girls' cartoons a little over a year ago when I began watching My Little Pony. Anyway a while ago I started watching the Monster High animated shorts and, well, I loved them. Draculaura is my favorite because she is ADORABLE, oh lawd, so cute and slightly ditzy, just freaking adorable. I was always kind of ambivalent about buying a "doll" though, because a doll sounds like such a girly thing, but in the back of my mind I was always kind of thinking "why not?"One night I got a little more hammered than usual and "why not?" went from the back of my mind to the front, and I bought this doll. I am so glad I did.First of all, just talking of aesthetics, she is every bit as cute as her animated counterpart: the eyes, the dainty figure, that little heart on her cheek...definitely d'awwww worthy. And the hair! One of the things that has always irked me about the MLP toys' hair is that if you want to give it any character you have to style it yourself, and let me tell you, getting polyester hair to stay in any consistent position takes a lot of experimenting and patience. With Draculaura, her hair came pre-styled to look just how I expected/hoped it would, and that made me very happy. There are a few things with this doll that were quite pleasant surprises. For one, the clothes seem to be pretty high quality. I'm by no means an expert, but they just seem pretty well-made and very cool looking. I am especially enamored with the gold stitching on her top, that's a very nice touch. Also her poseability is quite impressive, enabling one to put her into anything from an artful poise befitting a creature of the night, to some ridiculous parody of a hip-hop dance that makes me giggle every time I see it, to (as I prefer) something in between. The other thing that impressed me was that, despite the included base, she can stand on her own. Oh and also, those boots she wears actually come off, which I thought was cool because when I saw the pictures I thought they were molded on. But no, they come off and she has feet, which makes sense since the fashion pack (which I just bought) comes with some shoes.Honestly, I can't speak too much to the durability of the toy because I'm just naturally careful with my stuff, so if you're looking for a verdict on how this would hold up against your kid I can't really give you one. Then again if you're buying this for your kid you probably wouldn't be interested in a 26 year old dude's opinion anyway. All in all, I'm really happy with Draculaura and I have the sneaking suspicion that I will be buying more Monster High dolls to keep her company.

Poor Design
I bought this doll and several of the others for my granddaughter as a Christmas present. Her excitement turned to tears when, as her parents were helping her take it out of the box, an arm fell off! Unfortunately we were not able to reconnect it. We thought this was a fluke until despite gentle handling, the arms on the rest of the dolls eventually came off too! My granddaughter now has 4 Monster High dolls with arms that are not able to be reattached. The dollls were adorable and very detailed, but did a five or six year old child even test them out before they were put on the market? Considering the expense of the dolls, I expected more quality and durability from Mattel. Where can I find new arms?
