The self-tanning effect of DHA is due to the coloring of the upper layer of the epidermis, generate brown melanoidins. It is different from the melanogenesis generated by UV stimulation. INCI: Water (and) Dihydroxyacetone Colorless to slightly yellow liquid, concentration ~60 % DHA.
