DK Workbooks: Geography Pre-K: Learn and Explore

My daughter loves this book. It is fantastic at introducing geography concepts and topics that are basic but I wouldn't think to teach otherwise. The lessons are simple, right on target for the age group, and often give practical application so you can use the idea in a tactile way. My daughter was 3 when we started (4 now) and I've recommended this workbook to many friends.

Absolutely love this activity book! It is illustrated well and uses age appropriate language. My daughter loves doing her activity book. We typically do a few pages and then I quiz her on what we have learned.I would definitely recommend. My daughter has been in a day care with an advanced curriculum and beginning kindergarten this fall but the book is very informative and she has learned a lot of new things.

I had difficult time to hold my daughter's attention on reading and learning letters and words. English is her second language and she is only 4. This is her favorite book after I purchased it for her. It's not only helpful for her to learn geography knowledge, but also learn the language. She got very motivated and excited when she finished one page and got the little golden star! I also use it as a coloring book and my daughter likes coloring activities. Both of us very happy with the book.

This book is a really lovely introduction to geography concepts for small children. My three year old is loving working on this with us, and is learning quite a bit from it. It's a great subject since most preschool and prek class curriculum doesn't touch this topic much. However a couple small things.1. I am not sure the answer key is really needed at this level.2. On the map of the US where they are learning about the states, they completely neglected to label Michigan. I was not aware we were down to 49 states..I mean I realize parts of Detroit are rough but I am not sure it warrants kicking the entire state out of the union...Not a big problem, we took a pen and labeled it ourselves, but boo on the proofreaders. It lowers the quality a bit.3. COLOR pages would have massively enhanced this topic and helped connect young children to the topic. Pages are black and white line work only much like copied worksheets from any classroom. When purchasing materials for small children, finding high quality colorful lessons is a nice thing...it certainly draws the attention of the child and this book would have REALLY benefited from that.Overall a good find and a good value for the price.

Very glad this came. My 4-year-old was a little bit angry that his big brother had a kindergarten geography book and he didn't have his own preschool one. So when he saw this today he got very excited and said that he now has his own ography book.

I have loved all the DK books I have purchased for my kids and this is no exception. My kids are 4 and 5 and were introduced to many basic geography concepts. I would highly recommend this to parents. My kids even seemed to enjoy the book a LOT which is always a plus, lol!

I love this book. I use it for homeschooling. I like all the lessons. My kids are in kindergarten, so some of it is pretty easy. Sometimes they do not know the lessons though, and I wouldNot have thought to teach some of the things this book has in it. I think it is great! My kids really enjoy the book too so that is a huge plus!!

Overall this book has been pretty good, but the map on page 37 is missing the label for Michigan.

Really well done. We have, pretty much, the whole collection for our kid. He's 3, almost 4 and he really enjoys doing the activities with daddy.
