A good book to have for "Small is Beautiful Fans!

This book is a follow-up to the book of small is beautiful and is only concerned with blowing its own horn with accounts of programs it credits itself with doing. A waste of money because there is nothing to learn from it.

Good quality and reasonably priced.

So good. Much to learn. I need to reread it. So much relevance for today.

Our politicians have utterly failed us and do so because they do not recognise the need for humans to have skills and to be creative not just numbers on a timesheet. We are not managing our systems efficaciously and as the disasters occur so the market lead economy makes more money out of insurance etc. Tree planting to stabilise the top soil and to recreate our environment. It was the trees that first made our environment non acidic and these massive pumps that draw huge amounts of water which has been filtered and then throw that water up into the atmosphere are being chopped down resulting in floods and inundation, misery and despair. Definately a book to read. If only the politicians could stop squabbling for a minute and making money out of sending poor mens children to war or to the pole dancing clubs we might be able to make some progress.

The only way through ...!

Essential reading for those who consider our consumerist, global economy and societies to be dangerously misguided, I'd also recommend this to those who think everything is hunky dory, it isn't.

This book and its predecessor 'Small Is Beautiful' point the way towards an exciting, fairer and more fulfilling world. The challenge now is to make it happen - this book shows what has been built on the original book which is substantial, but not enough!
