Black Iron Oxide - Fe3O4 - Natural - 5 Pounds

Very good product. You can tell it is pure, and it worked great for the project I was working on.

Shipped fast. It’s a fine powder but it definitely weighs 5 lbs. you get a lot in the foil bag. You can reseal and zip the bag which is great for multi use. Be careful not to inhale the fine powder. Wear a mask. The color stains but washes off your hands easily. The magnetic property is strong and amazing. We made magnetic slime for our annual Halloween party. Worked great.

Nous avons utilisé ce produit pour fabriquer de la glue magnétique et ça fonctionne très bien. Un plus petit format aurait été parfait.

I ran a bloom furnace with this iron powder. From 10lbs of ore, I got a yield of about 5lbs of bloom steel. Good stiff!

I mixed the entire 5 lb bag into 1 gallon of paint applied in 4 coats - testing between coats - the fourth coat did the trick. This covered a 4 x 8 ft plywood sheet. I like the option of picking my own paint color rather than the chalkboard or magnetic paints advertised. Remember that the black powder will darken and flatten any paint. Recommend mixing in smaller batches for each coat and using a drill stirring stick rather than mixing by hand.
