Size:Large - For pets 50 pounds and larger Our pet tag sensors are magnets and therefore waterproof and do not require any batteries. It is important to order the pet tag sensor size designed for your pet's size, so the pet door operates properly. Large dogs stand further away from the pet door, hence they need a larger pet tag. The same principle works for medium dogs, as well as for smaller dogs and cats. The Small Pet Tag is for pets up to 15 pounds. The Medium Pet Tag is for pets 15 pounds to 50 pounds. The Large Pet Tag is for pets 50 pounds and larger.

Loved this product, now I hate this product!
8/22/18 1:05 pm I will never buy another product from Solo Pet Doors again...and I was a repeat customer for more than 3 years!!! I decided to call about the issues I was having with the little magnets to see if there was a solution that they could give me. I was just talked to like I had a tail by guy who basically called me a liar! He said that my pets were chewing off the magnets and they are not the precious little angels I think they are. Somebody skipped the customer service 101 class and went straight for the insults and denial that their product could ever be at fault. He said that I was the only one who ever complained about it. So I told him to read some of the reviews on Amazon and get his head out of the sand. It’s sad because the conversation started out quite pleasantly with me stating what my issues were and just saying that I needed help. He made it turn ugly within seconds. So, my advice...find another vendor willing to stand behind their product and who realizes that they are only as profitable as their customer service allows them to be. Wish I could post this with no stars!8/22/18 12:55 pm Revision to what I posted a couple of months ago. As I mentioned, bought 1 of the tags for a new puppy who is almost a year old. He’s more active than my older dogs and I was able to really see how flemsy these tags are. Normal wear and tear and he’s already gone through 2 of them in 6 months. They really need to figure out a better/stronger method to connect it to the collar because this is not working for me!Orginal post with 5 stars: These collar tags were purchased as replacement for a broken one and one for a new puppy. I love my solo automatic door that keeps every other animal out except my own.

Break Easy and Expensive
I have a twelve-year-old solo dog door and for 12 years have been disgusted with these sensors. I almost but a different style door because of the sensor's but I do like the door. This sensors are poorly made and the wire that attaches to the collar of the dog pulls away from the cheaply made vinyl that surrounds the magnet. They are expensive and my dogs constantly break them one playing or wrestling with each other or even just scratching. I found a new sensor on this site that is half is much money and works much much better it does not fall apart or break easily it looks nicer and is just great

Wish they were more durable for the price.
Wish they were more durable for the price. It's basically a wire wrapped around a couple magnets and dipped in rubber. Didn't last long. Have gone through 4 in 3 months. The wire pulls through the rubber and they get lost. Guess it's better for small, less active dogs. Definitely not puppies or dogs with puppies. Please make something more durable or cut the price in half. That being said.... I do Love my solo dog door!

Poor Design/Bad Customer service
1-The directions are almost non-existent. Installation requires an electrician that knows more than what is explained in the directions.2-The product does not work as described. When the sensitivity is set too low, the dogs cannot use it. When the sensitivity is slightly higher, the door opens 3-4 times per minute throughout the day allowing other creatures to enter3-Customer service is terrible. The person is condescending at best. He blamed me for the malfunction, saying that I had 'stripped' the delicate screw that controls the sensitivity.4-I had to purchase another Mechanical Box (total cost now over $900). The directions that were sent were for a different product. So, I am paying my electrician hourly to sort out their error.5-Still the product does not work and it constantly opens when the dogs are no where near the device.6-The hole that is needed for the unit removes 8 inches of insulation and the door is not sealed. Heat escapes making the room VERY cold (I live in Michigan)

Seller did not reply
Needed a replacement tag because the thin piece of metal that holds them on the collar broke. Ordered wrong size and contacted seller for assistance with an exchange. Never heard back. Cheap product from low grade seller.

A fan for all nine of our lives!
Although I didn’t buy the Solo door recently I love mine and the magnets that came with it. I like that their red and are securely attached to the magnet. A bit higher priced than some alternatives but well worth it, I get a year out of the small pet tag on my outside cat and two sometimes three years on my inside cat. We’ve has a Solo Door at every homes we’ve own - too many. Arrived when expected

best dog door i've every own... but way over priced
simple and functional... the door instillation was very simple and easy to follow the instruction... and after more than a year of use it show no ware and tear... works great... i really like the 15sec delay... it really helps keep the dog from going in/out... in/out... in/out

Does what's supposed to do.
Have bought several over the last 10 years that I have had my Solo Pet Door and they always last several years even though my dogs are pretty rough on them.
