AMAZING GRACE
What can be said about this force of nature ? I just finished listening to this from start to finish and it is brilliant. As the previous reviewer aptly stated - she has picked up flawlessly - who would know she was gone? With all her old buddies Sly, Robbie and Barry and Brian Eno (!) on board - oh even Jean Paul Goode - how could this not be so resoundlingly recorded - timeless, graceful, punctuated with an exclamation and smirk - love you grace. THANK YOU! (Why is this showing up as discontinued already? - Corporate Cannibal maybe?)

At its core, there’s a familiar acquaintance, like an old friend.
Grace has never sounded better. She sonically nourishes your soul from the past and always explores the future.Treat yourself to a brilliant helping of Grace, in your face. Bravo!

The Best from Grace
Perhaps the BEST from Grace! I love Grace Jones and everything she has done has been powerful and made a statement, but this collection of songs is as personal as it gets and EVERYTHING is nothing short of perfection! LOVE it!!

Grace Rules
I was hesitant about this, since it has been a while since Grace has had any recent music. However, I was not disappointed at all. Just the opposite! If anything, she has exceeded her other studio recordings! The songs are very good indeed.

Love this album!
This is a great album!!!! It's amazing how much substance this album has for a musician. There is depth to the music and the lyrics (Her other albums are fun but lack the depth of an artist). Grace has blossomed into a true sonic artist!!!! A must have for music fans and collectors!!!

Grace's Greatest by a Country Mile.
I've adored everything Grace has done since Slave to the Rhythm (and Nighclubbing before it). Fact is, though, that she was often relegated to the role of the singer and personality who brought other people's visions to life. Best example is of course Slave to the Rhythm. Trevor Horn and co. made a gorgeous "Art of Noise" album and it just happened to feature the personality and voice of Grace. So you have to wonder, if she ever took charge, and made the music personal, how would that work out? Well, here we have the answer. and at nearly 60 years of age, she makes her most amazing record ever. The rhythms of Sly and Robbie and the rest of the "All Stars" is worth the price of admission, but so many of the songs are intensely personal and so well-delivered, and Grace delivers, in my view, her very best singing performance. It is easy to forget that she was ever a supermodel and just assume that her most significant attribute is a musical genius that we never saw totally set free until now.I'm not diminishing her other work. I adore everything she put to tape from the early 80s on, but this... this is a whole other level.

YOUR BEST EVER, "MRS. JONES"!
I bought this in 2008 when it first hit the scene. Liked it. Listened to all tracks a respectable number of times before I moved away from it.Fast-forward to 2016; I rediscovered this CD and now I cannot stop listening. I've always been a BIG Grace Jones fan and have enjoyed all of her material over the past four to five decades. But, HURRICANE is echelons above any of her other released material in terms of music quality, lyric innovation, authenticity, artistry and timelessness. This collection is sublime - from start to finish. Those who have not gotten a taste of this masterpiece are truly missing out. All of these tracks tell interesting stories about life and what it truly is.BRAVO, Miss Jones! Well done! (Love you woman, ALWAYS!)Please release more material!!!

Grace Jones - where have you been!?!?!?!
This is Grace Jones' first studio album is years but, oh my, it was sooooooooo worth the wait. The song choices, production and sound are perfect and Grace is - as always - amazing. Several of the songs seem to have a personal, biographical aspect to them (such as 'Williams Blood' and 'I'm Crying') while others are simply Grace having fun ('Corporate Cannibal'). I was lucky enough to see Grace at the Royal Albert Hall, on her 'Hurricane' tour, and she told a story about how Bette Midler tried to steal the song 'Well, well, well' from her before she recorded it and how she fought to keep it hers and ensured its inclusion on the album. Although I'm sure that Bette would have done the tune justice, Grace really does make it her own and I feel its one of her best moments on the album. My only compliant would be that there are only nine tracks on the album, however perhaps this was done on purpose as I can honestly say that there isn't one single dud song on the CD. Great stuff, hope you enjoy...

Stunning!
I am pretty much new to Grace Jones. I remember the hits she had in the eighties, but this is the first album I have bought, so I wasn't really sure of what to expect. I'm pleased to report that it is terrific, and sounds fresh, modern and well produced. You can hear the influence of the likes of Tricky in this album, with it's thumping rhythms and superb production, although all the while it sounds unmistakably Grace Jones, with her chracteristic vocals and her man-munching edge so chracteristic of her music. I haven't bought an album as good as this for a very long time - it is stunning!

A phenomenal return to the music scene
What can be said? Grace Jones always has been an individual in a sea of normality. This album, like the track 'Hurricane' pretty much blows everything away. Retaining the reggae beats, care of Sly & Dunbar, but with a much harder edge tracks such as 'Corporate Cannibal' are like a rhythmic sledge hammer through a plate glass window. There aren't any hugely strong songs here but if you are a fan of Grace Jones and her individual style then this was worth the long wait.
