Size:Medium/Large The CMC Controller places the thumb in the optimum position by simultaneously abducting the thumb and distracting (seating) the CMC Joint Places the thumb in the optimum position by simultaneously abducting the thumb and distracting (seating) the CMC joint. Low profile allows normal motion of the thumb while supporting the CMC joint. Two sizes (no rights or lefts). Developed in collaboration with Dr. David Auerbach who is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. Indications The Hely & Weber CMC Controller is indicated to distract the CMC joint, but maintain normal motion of the thumb. Goals Stabilize CMC joint. Patient comfort. Decrease anti-inflammatory medications. Decrease pain symptoms. Improve thumb joint function.
